Hey - I just saw this, sorry. People are always leaving women out of the discussion as if they didn't matter at all. When women are finally mentioned by someone like Enloe it's then very common to hear a backlash with something along the lines of, "Why are we focusing on women - wouldn't it be better to include everyone?" Seems fair, but in reality men have been included all along. Like Orwell 'all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.'
Women are treated like dirt over there, it sucks.

Yes, and the way that women are treated and used specifically correlates to such problems.

Nobody seems to want to talk about the women, so it's important for people like Enloe to bring it to the surface. I love this woman!
