Pple are stupid! You can watch 3D without glasses. Everyone always forgets about what Sprint came out with about 5-6 months ago, the HTC EVO 3D. You can watch 3D without glasses. Only downfall is a smaller screen but nevertheless it can still be done. I can watch 3D movies all day on my EVO 3D with no problem. Its amazing!! I give props to HTC and Sprint...

This video should be deleted as it isn't relative to what is happening this year in 2012 with regards to 3D. This video was uploaded in 2010 and two years later there is still no glass-less free 3D TV. In fact the only big news in TV sets this year is OLED that still uses 3D glasses. Additionally this video does not even mention passive 3D for which the glasses are dirt cheap. It is doubtful we will see glass-less 3D for another 2 to 3 years that is actually cost effective.

I have 3D 50" panasonic HDTV plus 3D glasses and it works fantastic. The best things I've seen so far are 3D undersea movies from IMAX and Wipeout HD in 3D on PS3. PS3 can play stereoscopic 3D games really well in high resolution!

Alright dude. I know that ur saying that the glasses are here to stay. But I know they're not. Look at the cell phones and tablets. Lg optimus 3D and HTC Evo 3D. Even that big lg tablet. There is a possible way to create a 3D tv without glasses. it will be very strange because your going to HAVE TO SIT DIRECTLY IN FRONT of the tv. Because if you're at an angle it won't work.

I do believe in 3D tech but as you said the technology for near true 3D isn't here yet. Perhaps when we can cram in more processors in and master project technology and have research done on actual 3D engines then maybe we can see that. Still a full 3D experience needs sound as well but funny thing is that its more readily available.

I don't think that its a gimmic, but they better do a good job.. I have a 3D TV, with the glasses and the picture quality is 50x's better than the nintendo that you spoke of.. I dont think that the problem, with sony, is the fact that the quality is hard to match.. I'm sure that the technology is pricey, but nintendo has the technology and the quality is poor.. I understand that it does work, but for the size of the screen, the quality should be much better...

I do agree with you that 3D technology is something that will not go away altho i think it is still a "extra" additional little thing like for example: "depth of field" and "bokeh" technologies are. The main issue with 3D technology implementation in FPS games is the aiming the reticle (crosshairs) is 2D you see and i've been playing fps games with old 3D tech "cyan red" glasses but you will have a huge disadvantage aiming wise i hope this coming new technology will fix this.
