Jackson was so out of touch and irrelevant by the turn of the century that he chose to attach himself to one of the corniest "groups" on the planet back then, NSynch (trying to tap the fickle youth market). Perhaps you're too young to recall but Jackson's career was on a major downswing by '00. His last album barely sold 2 million copies and he was becoming a parody of his former self because he failed to mature as an artist and a person.

@ritter89 - ok by the 00's his career was going downhill. but the no.1 album did sold well at 10m n went to no.1 in 11 countries. so that did ok. n remember not every artists can even reach 10m mark then. but MJ at the weak part of his career still pulled that off along with 2 other artists at the time. that says a lot. plus evry1 thought he he was finished. but how shock were ppl when MJ sold 1m tickets when every1 said he wouldn't sell out ever again.
