Ford racing has them and genuine gears has them as well. Was going to go 4.56's but that is getting pretty low for freeway use. They should be pretty easy to get.

@mirlin235 I would say it's a great first truck. Parts are cheap cause there's millions of them out there. If you want the best mileage a std cab with the 4.2 V can hit 20mpg on the highway. Mine has the 4.6 and now has 186,000 miles on all original engine and trans. (had gears changed in rear axle)

when i had it at the track it ran a 14.99 @ 91mph and then pulled a 15.1 @ 89mph. these trucks are pretty quick

oh and i got a buddy that has a single cab 4.6 that is superchipped and has intake and exhaust and his 0-60 is in the mid 6 sec range his is also a 2001. guess you got yourself a lemon. i just had the whole motor rebuilt in mine because she hit 200,000 miles so that was basically it along with a used 60,000 mile trans outta a 2003 harley truck

ok, i don't think that is slow since the worlds fastest pickup truck can do it just shy of 5 sec and that has a 500hp 8.3L V10 and the lightning does mid 5's with 380 and that has a supercharged 5.4L so my truck is actually pretty quick

tomorrow i'll get a vid of it then. i got a camera but i will have to find the cord to upload it. seriously why would i lie about a 7.5 0-60 time? that is very slow compared to other things like my mustangs 0-60 time is 5.5....has the same motor and weighs 3,352lbs.

and i looked up some info on my truck, the motor was rated at 260hp and 350ft lbs of torque. it is basically stock except i removed the air box to act like a cold air intake. plus i just like the way it sounds. i can peel the tires thru 1st up to about 30-35mph and that is with bald A/T's. just look at some other vids on here of 4.6 f150's. the guy i bought the truck from told me it was stock. so unless he was lying and it has 4.10's and is tuned or chipped my truck does 0-60 in about 7.5-7.8.
