Rafale or Eurofighter for pakistan.....Yukk what a question?
If they get....Then you can say that they are in WRONG HANDS...And to CHINA they will available to make a copy of these fighters with the help of paki airforce....
LOL the only argument that the EF fanboys had against the effectiveness of the Rafale was that the latter had never been sold and, for them, it was an indication. They should be disgusted now that he has won what is commonly called "the mother of all deals". It is a hope for all other tender in which the Rafale participates.
Indians love Rafale..its a sure sure win above all the contenders..it performed really well in all terrains..very agile and advanced...the only issue is cross section which is twice that of EF...but india plans to indigenously alster it to make it more stealthy...aand put advanced avionics and missile from India,RUssia,Israel and France and UK.
"The Dassault Rafale can supercruise, in dry power, even with four missiles and a 1,250-liter belly drop tank and even in the naval version (Rafale M); it can supercruise up to Mach 1.4 while carrying six air-to-air missiles (MBDA MICA)."
It will be highly stupid if we go for Eurofighter!!! Rafael already has an AESA radar and EF will only get that in 2014 and an functioning Naval variant not to mention we r going to partner france for Kaveri engine!! Which will have commonality with Tejas..What the fuck IAF think out of ur head and not ur ass.. Get the Rafeal french foreign policy is better than Euro and they will supply in case of war.. Open ur eyes pleasee..
@thar777 Those are contract pilots that have nothing to do with us in India. In case a war breaks out here, they cannot leave RSAF and come and fight for PAF under the contractual agreements. Flying a Typhoon in other air force and flying for oneself has a lot of differences.
Even if they know the weakness of Typhoons, PAF doesn't have anything in its inventory to counter the newer Typhoon. The age of dogfights is gone; today it is BVR, long range radars and fire-and-forget missiles.
the dassault rafale didnt fail the tests but actually was shortlisted along with the eurofighter typhoon. there is much more that meets the eye in a deal like mmrca eg politics, cost & efficiency. rafale is much more affordable & cost effective than its main competitors except mig 35, but as indian inventory is full of russian jets so dassault is a better option & IAF is familiar with its design n tech as mirage is already in use. pakistan isnt an option for dasault as far as avail. info ...lol
@thar777 True bro, Rafale's are the ones that India should go for. Porkis already have access to Eurofighter through Saudis. And very shortly Rafale's are getting AESA of its own. Go for it INDIA..!
Eurofiter and Rafale are the final two for the bid!!! Both going neck to neck.. IAF is satisfied with both of them and hav now left it to the government to select one of them... Negotiation going on!!!!
@sixameleon well my friend i think u need to rethink as soon BRIC countries will be bigger economy than whole of europe - what will europe sell then. arms and tech is only thing that europe has to sell (mind u that is also eclipsed partly by america n russia)
Dassault has also offered to fit the Kaveri engine into the Rafale, which, if chosen, would greatly improve commonality with the Tejas aircraft that will enter service into the IAF by 2010. Dassault better when. Look how much they are offering outside the aircraft!
The French government has cleared full technology transfer of the Rafale to India, including AESA radar and the transfer of software source codes, which will allow Indian scientists to re-programme a radar or any sensitive equipment if need be.Without the software source codes, the IAF would have to specify mission parameters to foreign manufacturers to enable configuration of their radar, seriously compromising security in the process.
Rafale fits well into India's requirements. As long as the AESA is ready in time. It's got everything that India might need for it's multi role long range fighter bomber requirement. Perfect replacement for the Jaguar/Mig27/Mig23/M2000. In fact, it replaced the M-2000 and Jaguars in the french AF. The only other fighter in the M-MRCA which does the job that IAF wants it to do so specifically, is Super Hornet. Don't know about Typhoon's present status but IAF was impressed by it.
The first time I saw the Rafael I didnt like it at all. But the more I see it, the more I like it. There is just something about this machine. May be its the French asthetics. I could take a camera and take pictures of this plane all day long!
of course, because it is close politicaly between india and usa/russia, dassault is not realy interessed by india market, but it wait the reject india for break down definitly partner ship and open the pakistan market for rafale, they are much more opportunity market. In clear the economic goal is not india but pakistan.
In fact rafale is better than F16IN and F18,
F18 cannot lock rafale, and f16I is 20% less performant than rafale. Potically that is an another story.
french officials have said that they will "go beyond a buyer/seller relationship" with india if they opt for the rafale. while the language is a bit diplomatic and vague, im pretty sure the french wont sell it to the porkis if india buys it.
@ashish5165 if it was british or american you'd be rooting for them to buy it even if they'd have to increase starvation in india, don't be a fucking hypocrate, instead of blaming the national defense of a country blame aristocratical interests protected by the capitalist system!!!
French has cancelled its deal with Pakistan over uncertain paki finance situation.. And technology going in wrong hands!! Plus Rafale is in the final two of MMRCA deal and French also offered trensfer of technology and 50-50 partnership in future
@satbirsinghrajpal I am aware of all of this. I follow defense quiet closely in fact. As the competition nears its ends... it simply boils down to who is offering what (TOT, Source code, etc). It would be easier to get Rafale in our system as the infrastructure for Mirage is already present. That said, I wouldn't mind getting 126 + 63 of either the Rafale or the Typhoon.
@PassionateIndia moreover dassault WANT to sell it's rafale to india, india already bought mirage 2000, how can a builder refuse to sell 126 aircraft ?! No way ! France has no real big deal with paki. and everybody knows that dealing with paki is like giving our technology to china !
Lol!!! you are talking out of your ass!! Pakistan a good market? the one who needs US money to counter terrorism (though tats another stuff that Pakistan uses that money illegally in defense procurement, yuk!) Pakistan a good market| joke of the day!!
If thats the case then Why come to India?? Go Directly to Pakistan and sell them ur Aircrafts and I wonder how a bankrupt Pakistan will pay u? In sand or rock or better AK-47s!! If not you can import suicide bombers from pakistan!! Not a bad Deal!!
Dont fool urself u know where d market is, above all Indian defense procurement in next five years will reach more than 300 Billion Dollars and France aims for it! I have a gud Idea about the Financial& employment conditions in France :D
French Government want to deal with india. That is very different. India ask to french government to push dassault to participate to market race with some desinformation.
Dassault don t want realy because it lose its time, so much corruption for thousend year of negociation, it got again a good sample because all its detail price contract was communicate to Lookeed Martin, that confirm.
Dassault don t care about mirage 2000 maintenance contract, India is not a good payer.
I am really sorry to Inform you that a Big team of Dassault is camping in New Delhi to see the deal getting converted with French embassy in India taking an active part. Yes for sure we as Indians have to keep our options open & if we think we have better option than Rafael, we will certainly go for it.
I think you personally do not care but the deal But after seeing d canvasing by French Govt. & Dassault in New Delhi I think otherwise. We are not sitting here to get ripped off! :D
@XpCorba Howe exactly is our market not interesting for France? We're a massive market compared to Pakistan simply by size and economy. If you can clear this out, It would be great.
Dassault aviation is highly Interested in Indian market and MRCA deal as it would be world's largest defense deal in a single contract.(10.2 billion $)
French have even offered full technology transfer alongwith RBE2-AA Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar upgrades and the transfer of software source codes, which will allow Indian scientists to re-programme the radar or any sensitive equipment.
@XpCorba Pakistan expressed its interest in Rafale, however No official statement has been issues to sell the planes to Pakistan. French have never supplied any war equipment to Pakistan so far and if it would, Indian-French relations would be affected, so It wont happen anyways as India is big market.
Pakistan is market??
Pakistan got f-16s from US during cold war because they were fighting as proxy force in Afghanistan and no money was paid to US fof F-16s and other defense equipment.
@blackpearl098 i don't think it's best suited for carrier ops, as the navy pilot would like to fly a rafale (remeber that france uses the same navy pilot school than US navy).
@XpCorba Your statement "Economic goal is not India but Pakistan".LOL.First of all pakistan needs to have an economy.lol.secondly if in hundred years(i doubt it will exist till then) they develop some,it can never match up to India's gigantic economy and market set to become the world's second largest by the end of this decade.Thirdly,France is India's ally and Sarkozy pitched for Rafale in his personal capacity in a press conf when he was in India, unprecedented for any leader anywhere.

blackpearl098 7 months ago
@XpCorba What do you mean when you say F-18 cannot lock Rafale??
Even Mig19 can lock rafale, Leave F18 alone. what matters is angle of attack.
Planes with high angle of attack can change course quickly so they are dificult to lock on.
F-18 and Rafael, both have very high angle of attack and both are capable fighters.
F-18 has old airframe design and best suited for Aircraft carrier based operations.
Do you anything about aircrafts?? I was really laughing after reading your message.
