Maintaining an increased police presence throughout London for the short term may be one solution, but what will happen come next summer holidays when children are looking at dim future prospects and the possibility of being turned away from school come september? Probably the same thing. The government has to deal with the real reason those kids are out on the streets, such as the economy and poverty. Its all very well talking about an increased police presence, but REAL change is needed

I grew up in Hackney, I got a nice house, not by burning cars, shops, people’s homes. I did it by being a cliché, by hard work. No magic formula, no silver spoon, just getting on with it. I moved as Londoners became types who wanted it on a plate and put no effort in unless it involved shitting on their own to get it.
