We had a Dachshund that used to do that! His name was Pepper and he loved going for walks too. He was a Silver dapple, but unfortunately, sitting pretty messed up his back.
Mine would do that also. Food, toys, etc. Her back got bad in her old age and stopped doing it, but not sure if that is the reason for it. Allmost all domestic breeds have a physical weakness that affects them later in life.
Great looking dog..hopefully he never has to go through any back problems. our eight year old doxie, Taffy is just recovering from a 3600 dollar University of Tennessee back surgery..you would never know she had anything wrong with her.
I can't get him to stop! He is pretty spoiled, though - gets carried up and down the stairs, isn't allowed to jump on/off furniture - so hopefully, he won't have any back problems... and he is very healthy right now!
@falloutsonia i would have thought that it would be good for there backs because of all that wait being put into the center of there backs when they stand like a normal dog, then they sit like that and it would prolly give their backs a break or something... but yeah it sux. mine did it all the time.
theyre begging

My doxie, Penny, does that all the time, too. I think it helps that her legs are a little longer than a regular doxie.
