Isle of Wight Island Line 1938 ex-LU tube stock in service in 2008!

I love the 1938 stock. Whenever I go to the IOW I make sure I take a ride on the train and suddenly it's the 1960s and I'm a little boy in London.

73 years old and still going strong ! unlike the the 1959 Piccadilly, the 1962 Central and the 1983 jubilee line stock which are now saucepans and razor blades.

As kids back in the early 70s, we used the Piccadilly Line in the Hounslow area. Mostly the trains were the silver 1958 stock, with occasionally red 1938 stock. Sometimes they would mix & match them. A bit of red and a bit of silver...We always headed for the silver train - DoH!!!
