The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
"He's from Hawaii, O.K.?" said Mr. Obama's senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. "He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there."
And remember what Obama said while campaigning for president in 2008: “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.” He added: “That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen.”
Watch out, Big Brother will determine you're using "more than your fair share" of energy. How about one of your (allegedly) smarter-than-thou Liberals tell me how that philosophy works in a free market society.
it has taken this token pig less than a year to screw up what has been working in this nation since our founding fathers formed this nation - he must be IMPEACHED - don't wait till 2012!
Where? When? How? Does someone have a transcript for the audio, because for me it's chopping and at no point does Obama say anything regarding controlling your thermostat.
your an idiot and know nothing - learn something before making a comment - go hug your obama doll that you got from your favorite celeb who told you to vote for him!
@whotookmypiewtf Wrong, bitch. Fascism is an extreme socialist form of politics, with a Nationalist agenda. You idiot. You and ignorant people like you disgust me.
@jamieg1tube Thats hilarious that you think that, and you think your so right about it. Fascism is extremely socially conservative, and holds the belief that inequalities in wealth are beneficial to society, contrary to the view of socialists.
@NoGuff National socialism, is what nazi socialism is, and it isn't what people generally consider socialism. AGAIN, that is because it National Socialism holds the belief that inequalities in wealth are beneficial to society. Look, I'm not even a liberal, I am actually a libertarian, but people confusing the nazis with the liberal agenda, is just as bad as the liberals associating the republican foreign policy with the Nazis foreign policy.
@whotookmypiewtf - So even if modern "liberals" (really leftists) and Nazis different on the outcome of the distribution of wealth it doesn't mean the means of getting to their goals differ all that greatly, especially when equality of wealth never happens? If both groups believe in a strong centralized government dictating the means of production does it really matter if American Leftists and the German Nazis disagree on how the wealth pie is cut? I'm not attacking! Just curious! :)
@nojunkorspam My real point is, why do we have to jump calling leftists "nazis"? The right does it to the left, and the left does it to the right. That kind of rhetoric is divisive, unfair, and counter productive. When one thinks of Nazis, typically a strong centralized government isnt the first thing that comes to mind, but more the evils that they were associated with. We need to start having real civilized debates, instead of using unfair scare tactics to get our message across.
"When one thinks of Nazis, typically a strong centralized government isnt the first thing that comes to mind, but more the evils that they were associated with"
Liberalism is horribly misguided. It goes hand-in-hand w/ Leftism-Socialism-Communism-Fascism, which are evil. Think of the latter as arsonists, the former as people who like to play with fire, don't want arson to be a prosecutable offense, & find nothing wrong with it, but who may or may not go out burning stuff down
@whotookmypiewtf - But at what point does an adjective become name calling? It seems to me that the "Nazis" label was perfectly acceptable for decades and only became a problem when the right started applying it to the left. That said, I do get the impression that you're worrying about watering down a term that's strongly associated with genocide and massive evils like that, but we can never have civilized debates when the rules are so radically different depending upon what side you sit on.
@whotookmypiewtf No liberals are just Nazi's with a sense of hubris because they think they are smarter than others and have good intentions. They believe if you were only as intelligent as they are you would agree with them. Yes they most certainly are Nazi's.
@TerrierToughGuy If thats your opinion, so be it. But your not going to pump any sense into liberals by calling them Nazi's. If anything thats going to push them away from being open to your ideas. By calling liberals Nazis, you are contributing to the reason why America is so divided. You and I both know that liberals have no intentions of massive genocide, so why compare them to the most evil empire in history?
@whotookmypiewtf I find the written word somewhat lacking especially with a word like Nazi, a broad pejorative for sure. You see them as an ideology that promoted mass genocide, which is true. They were also much more than that, many people all over the world were simpatico with Nazi ideals before WWII. William Randolph Hearst, Joseph Kennedy , Charles Lindbergh, John Rockefeller, Andrew Mellon, DuPont, General Motors, Standard Oil, Ford, ITT, Allen Dulles, Prescott Bush and many more.
@whotookmypiewtf In other words, no one can be deceived without using truth. I consider what I consider to be liberals to be bereft of historical perspective and Aristotelian logic which is the basis of mathematics and all science. I do consider it a mental illness.Using simple logic one could never come to the conclusions that the left comes to regarding their view of social justice or what brings out the best in humanity. They create mediocrity and poverty while intending to alleviate it.
I live in Florida and I keep my thermostat on 70 twenty four hours a day, soon the government will probably be giving out "tickets" for keeping your house too cool Figures....THEY WANT TO CONTROL TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's more worried about what other countries think about us than he is of how we feel about him obviously. the incompetent idiot criminal bows to foreign kings while demeaning his own country. No wonder Chavez gave him a book on socialism and degrading America while he was there. We need to take the libs out of our govt.
Listen, this is a serious problem, we all can agree on that. Complaining about each others ideas will not solve the problem in any way, it will only exacerbate the issue more.
everyone needs to put support into current ideas, and continually think about alternatives, if the current plan doesnt work.
Rather than lose faith in american companies (AIG, GM, Chrysler) we should all be supporting with new ideas to change. Lord knows they need it.
If we sit on our asses, things will just get worse.
I have heard that his thermostat is cranked up, but please enlighten me; What is the actual temp in the WH..?
P, BO is the worst president I have ever seen, so far he has spent more in his first month than Bush did in his first 7 yrs. and yet his approval numbers are some 60%.?..?
Does anyone else smell fraud?
I could go on and on; Anyone who recommends people (in these times) "barrow money to buy an RV" is totally out of touch with reality. WORSE is this clown is our president
"BO" wouldn't have to spend all of this money if your beloved King George II didn't completely eff up the economy.
Just to clarify; during Clinton's term, we were in a SURPLUS- meaning we had money to spare.
Bush came along and de-regulated the banks and the housing markets, causing a massive rush to spend what we didnt have. Combine that with a war that was based on false pretenses, and you've got yourself an explanation, my friend.
Obama is only here a month, give him a chance, at least.
Bush did not de regulate anything. It was the democrats that were in control of congress. i.e. Barney Frank. They pushed for the banks to give out loans, "so that every American can own their own home"
And as for the war, we have been pretty safe the last 7 years. Better to keep the fight out of your back yard. right?
People need to start realizing that they can't purchase what they cannot pay for. Why should government be any different? We cannot afford the stimulus package!!
I have to disagree, although the cuts were supported by democrats, the entire idea was created in a 'Kotov Syndrome' style rush to fix things. The fact still remains that King George II could have stopped it, or altered it during his 'reign', but he didn't.
And please, don't even get me started on this illegal war in Iraq, because I can very well prove my point.
Don't equate the US government with the average household. The average household:
* Doesn't have the entire US tax base as a revenue stream
* Has a finite lifetime, the US can (in principle) exist indefinitely
* Can't run deficit spending
* Has debt/GDP ratio tied to GDP
Businesses work the same way. Most businesses often buy stuff they cant pay for--it's called leveraging. The US can certainly purchase what they cannot pay for, but they need to be responsible about it.
Yacht, one can understand that govt spending helps the economy from the inside out.
say, for instance, the govt spends, oh- $10billion on rebuilding bridges - a good idea considering the current state of some of them.
the money used to pay workers, to purchase materials, etc, would all enter the economy, through the workers pockets, thus giving people a better situation.
Instead of spending on domestics, Bush spent on Iraq.
I do think, and I do see that money *thrown* at other countries is bad
u have ZERO grasp of economics. Money confiscated from the private sector & spent on public works does NOT stimulate growth. It can't. The only way GROWTH is achieved is by having the private sector flourish - this is the engine.
Strung out 2 it's logical conclusion, if everyone was paid by the government they r just retaxing and spending the same stagnant pool of money. Where's the growth?
A: 1.7% of Obama's budget goes 2 jobs.
B: war budgets don't throw money at other countries, (cont)
listen, asshole; I do think before i type. you have to recognize that money spent on military paraphernalia isnt as effective as money spent on domestic works.
my good friend worked for the IRS until he retired a few years ago, and he can attest to the same idea.
history quiz: what did we do during the great depression? did we build tanks to level our cities? no, we had the WPA and public works programs.
granted, we had WWII, but as im sure you know, this goddamn war now sure isnt doing much.
tomshorts07-the federal government is not authorized to spend money on building bridges; it's unconstitutional - and the states should have been fixing them instead of spending money on amenities, tourist attractions and bribes to get corporations to move to their state.
anoniab- the federal government IS permitted to spend money on subsidized programs to construct bridges, parks, etc. Do you remember learning (or maybe you were alive at the time) when FDR had a program named 'The New Deal', with the WPA? Thats what created most of these (now in need of repair) amenities.
I dont understand your complaint- if the infrastructure is fixed, and available, then businesses would return to the area, and thus- more jobs, and *gasp* economic growth!
The Obamessiah's rules are just for the little people. You notice he didn't mind the 600 private jets used by people who flew in for the inauguration either.
NO WE CAN'T! Lower our 'stats! NO WE CAN'T! Pay our taxes! NO WE CAN'T! Be held to the standards we demanded of others, bashed them in the campaign for not keeping, just to get elected! NO WE CAN'T! Be held responsible by MSM who kept the voters in the dark, nor asked tough questions! NO WE CAN'T! Care for the american people as we load up the "stimulus" bill with pork, favors, government expansion, and bureaucracy. NO WE CAN'T! Keep our promises. Lobbyists can work for us! SHOUT WITH ME NOW!..
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Whos the jack ass who put this vid up and made me wast 35 seconds of my life plus the 25 seconds to write this crap? I hope you die! Anyone who's this ignorant deserves to!
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times . . . and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK."
Not ME:
Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.
The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
Hes from Hawaii, O.K.? said Mr. Obamas senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.
SOCIALISTIC PIECE OF CRAP!!!! Can't believe our country is that stupid that we voted for him as president. Obama, you are to me what dog crap is to my shoe!...REVOLUTION!
This stupid piece of shit Obama wants to control your thermostat, but while he is in the White House, he cranks up his thermostat to make his home nice and toasty. Don't act surprised that this America-hating asshole turned out to be the world's biggest hypocrite.

I live in Maine. Sometimes, my hot water heater will kick out, especially when it's cold. Inside of my house it can get to 57 degrees fahrenheit. If Obama or any gov't bureaucrat controls my heat, I'm gonna freeze in my own home. Not only that, my pipes would burst and that would waste gallons of water that could be used for cooking, cleaning, drinking, etc. Obama is a statist, and like all statists, he doesn't get it. Let the damn market take care of it.
your right grindcoreguy we had a monkey in charge 4 the last 8 years.thank goodness we now have a real man to run this country and his name is BARAK HUSAIN OBAMA!!!
all you racist hicks need to chill out thanks to obama you can finally get your teeth fixed. you will be able to use a real tooth brush, instead of your teeth brush thanks to his universal healthcare plan.hes going to create 2 million jobs so you and your sister, im sorry your wife can finally get off warefare, and move out your bus and buy a real house.change we can believe in GO OBAMA.
Get OFF Welfare? By the way 2 million government jobs just means more taxes for us. We can't all have government jobs...unless Chairman Obama decides to nationalize everything.
The US uses up that energy providing goods to the rest of the world way out of proportion to our population.....much of it as outright charity.
I have to say, Obama is right....we need to stop using so much energy. Instead of doing for the world, they need to look out for themselves. Americans should focus on our own needs only....let the fucking ungrateful scum of this world starve to death.
Right up at the top of that list is africa. No more aid to africa...shrink our carbon footprint
I think the best way to do it would be to ration energy. If you use more then you are allowed, huge fines. We can't keep taking more and more resources from the earth each year and expect it to go on forever. Thank Odin for Obama. He won't let you stay the way you are. HAHAHA
The man didnt say that he wanted to control anything in our houses as far as food or even the thermostat... we have to understand that being an American is about raising each other up and being good neighbors thats what hes talking about and u all are just HATERS CUZ WE IN NOW!!!!
YOU aint in NOWHERE asshole! This guy is going to screw you just the same as the rest of us, the only problem is you are just too fucking stupid to realize it.
America I hope you wake the fuck up, before this asshole gets into office. Why are you so willing to give your freedom and life away to suck an obvious plant from the left
Has anyone seen Obama's mansion. It is probally at least 9000 sq. ft. and looks like it has tall ceilings. It is also old as shit (no insulation more than likely) and is in Chicago Ill., one of the coldest cities in the nation.
It is no telling what that old brick fuel guzzler cost to heat in the winter time.
I'm sure he dosn't have a clue (he has lots of rich friends who fork over the money) so he has never seen a light or gas bill.
Look folks, this banter back and forth doesn't matter. What will matter, however, is what we do on November 4th. So lets vote and get on with the business of living. It's a stimulating political season this year and I for one am glad to see alot more people engaged this time around. . .
News Flash! John McCain has chosen Sarah Palin as his VP! Sarah, governor of Alaska, will bring a wealth of experience to the table. What a team! McCain/Palin 08!
liberutopian---- you pathetic fuck. Do you eat? Do you wear clothes? do you shit(for brains)? You douche-bag- you pollute by your very existence. You also breathe air that belongs to people who contribute more than whining to the world.
We will lose our rights to do anything if he gets elected. There will no longer be any freedom. At the same time, McCain wants to stay in Iraq (sending our economy to hell). Obama will also ruin our economy by doubling the amount of foreign aid when we are so in debt. Sigh, they both suck. I also don't understand people are saying if he become's president he will be the first black one. He's half white, half black! I bet that if he was white, he'd have no chance.
Long live the Constitution! Long life the Bill of Rights! Long live the right to Freedom of Speech! Long live the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms! Long live the right to keep my A/C at whatever temperature I damn well please (as long as I work to make the money to pay the electric bill). Long live the right to eat want I want (as long as I have the money to pay for it) & not have to stand in bread lines like they used to do in the ex-Soviet Union. Freedom rocks!
I know it's trite that people point out that BO has the addiction of smoking. I've been an ex-smoker for 12 years who NEVER gives smokers a hard time because I've been there. The reason, however, BO's smoking addiction pisses me off is his comments: "We can't drive our SUVs, we can't keep our A/C on 72 all the time & we can't eat whatever we want & expect other countries to say OK." It's hypocritical for Obama to throw stones at others about their HABITS/ADDICTIONS when he struggles himself.
Thanks to Lord Obama for saving us. Praise his holy name. Finally, a savior has come forth to tell me I can no longer drive SUVs, eat, or do anything living in the USA has allowed me to do. I'm glad a leader has emerged who is going to give America what it deserves: a return to the 19th century living standards. Praise Lord Obama the Enlightened. I beg that he will apologize to all the countries we've liberated from tyranny and sent billions to in monetary aid. God damn Amerika, the US KKK of A.
You think his words in this video are scarey, take a look at these:
Colorado Springs, CO - July 2, 2008
Obama: "We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
Obama should take his own advice, set the example by starving himself and his family, freezing to death in winter or boiling to death in summer, bike or walk wherever he goes and live in a hut. As for me, I'll keep my A/C at 72 or my heat at whatever makes me comfy. I'll eat and drink if I want. And build a nice house if I want. While he's at it, he should move to some country in Africa and become its dictator. He'd be great at it.
A reply is an answer. Get that right in the first place. WAA WAA WAA. Is that all you had to say? Didn't seem like much to me. So here's something for you: Suck my stick then STFU.
McCain was expressing extreme empathy -- that's E-M-P-A-T-H-Y and you can look up the word to edify yourself w/ regards to its meaning -- he was expressing empathy toward the citizens of Georgia. And, he was expressing support to the sovereignty of Georgia, a pro-West, pro-Democracy nation which just happens to be going through extreme hardship at the hands of this current KGB-holdover Russian regime.
...When Obama says "citizen of the world," though, that's just another indication of his longing toward one-world government, totalitarianism, and a desire to hand the USA to the UN on a platter, docile and subservient to that fallacious organization. It's along the same lines of the Freudian-slip "57 states" comment. It's all too clear where Obama is coming from.
And just listening to this little fragment of Obama-talk, you see where the man's priorities lie -- we must downgrade our quality of life to meet his "one-world" philosophy.
It's akin to the trite, dumb liberal philosophy: if there are poor people, then there should be no wealthy people; better that everyone is poor.
Obama and his ilk would be happy to dictate every facet of our lives for what they mistakenly see as "the common good"; he would have us sold short in the name of global parity.
Right. He was expressing sympathy to a sovereign nation. Do you know Iraq is a sovereign nation that we invaded in the name of WMD? I don't see you or McCain expressing sympathy for them. Or aren't we all Iraqis like we were Georgians yesterday? The fact that a lobbyist for Georgia is working on his campaign is not suspicious to you either? Come on now. . . even though we elect them, not all of us in the United States are dumb like our politicians seem to be of late.
Of course, if McCain didn't have a Georgian working on his staff, then you liberals would cry that he wasn't diverse enough in his hiring. Nothing is suspicious about a Georgian being on his staff. Not everything is a conspiracy. There was no shooter on the grassy knoll. Liberal Demoncats read the same intelligence as W and they voted for the war in Iraq, which is now won, no thanks to buffoons like you & your Code Pink buddies. Georgia is not a state sponsor of terrorism. Iraq was...dumbass.
I cannot believe Obama hasn't been run out of town on a rail yet. How much of our tax money do the politicians pour overseas to help the poor and disadvantaged? How many illegal immigrants pour into this country so they can use all our natural resources to their hearts content, and we can't kick 'em out because that would be racist?
The "change" Obama says "we can believe in" sounds more like a radical shift toward sweeping totalitarianism.
You WILL march in lockstep. You WILL do as Big Brother tells you. You WILL eat what Big Brother says to eat. You WILL sleep when Big Brother says to sleep.
I am talking about the hemorrhaging of personal freedom we have been experiencing in this nation for many years. The hemorrhaging has increased exponentially in the past decade or so, with loss of property rights, the constant attack on First and Second Amendment rights, the "we know what's best for you peons" liberal mentality, the global warming hoax which is just another behavioral control scheme, etc, etc. And Obama is an unqualified leftist totalitarian control freak. Are we clear?
Oh, you mean, like how President Bush signed the Patriot Act? That's not chipping away at our liberties? And then to compound your proclivity to paranoia, you're going after Obama based on a video clip that linked from Rush Limbaugh's website, and you've got NADA to say about the Patriot Act? Yeah, he's a reliable sources. Please just STFU and go get therapy for your paranoia. And take Limbaugh with you. Maybe he can give you some of his meds. Delusional Neocon.
I hear you and agree that our liberties are of extremee importance. I have no problem with you there. But if you're going to address the issue, include the fact that the Patriot Act has encroached and suffocated some of our inalienable rights, i.e., privacy. It's funny how you condemn Obama for saying Citizen of the World yet you say nothing of McCain saying yesterday that we're all Georgians. So just STFU. Go vote for McCain or whatever. Obama doesn't need nor want your vote anyway.
I think you'll find he will need the votes. With the no drilling position and the Russians kicking up their heels, this is no time for an anti-oil, blame America first wimp in the white house. The Russians now have money because they are drilling for oil and we are getting weaker economically and militarily because the libs won't let us drill. $4 gallon gas and aggressive Russians three months before election day may hurt Obama more than you realize. Could be a perfect storm.
The Russians don't worry about being politically correct. Georgia is a major oil port to the world. The Russians have finally begun to realize the wealth they can generate by drilling, controlling and selling oil, damn the environment. Meanwhile, our naive pacifists running this country have not let us open an oil refinery since 1979 or let us drill. Our enemies or potential enemies, namely China and Russia, drill wherever the oil is and they are building their military with this oil money.
What an asshole this guy is. I live in a desert and if he thinks that I am going to gove control over my thermostat to him then he is not getting my vote.
in a democracy the government does not control what you do in the privacy of your own home, or what kind of car you drive. the world is a free market economy. we use what we use because we are the main producer on the planet. it's not up to individual nations to dictate what we do or don't use. this pothead is out of his cotton picking mind thinking we have to ask other nations for permission to do anything here. of coures after stating there are 57 states (al gore liberal) what do you expect?
The videos I tried to post at include Michelle's interview on The View & the one where Al Gore endorsed Obama. Go on- I DARE you to try to post something that disagrees with BO or is anti-Barack in any way and you will see. They won't post it. They only post those messages that concur with the Barack campaign! Of course; who wouldn't? Word of mouth at other postings will expose this practice though, and I told them that (it didn't post either)! Spread the word!
I don't even bother viewing the videos the Obama campaign posts because they do not allow anything negative against the campaign to be posted in response. I don't view their videos, it's a waste of time. It's all an orchestrated effort to make him appear in a favorable light. They are very good at doing this. He is also paying people to go on the internet and post favorable things about Obama. His whole campaign is a sham. He reminds me of Mugabe in Zimbabwe. They will threaten any dissent.
Here's something ya'll should try. TRY posting a message that DISAGREES with BO at one of the videos posted by his campaign & see what happens. NOTHING. I've posted several messages recently, including one questioning WHY they are screening messages & banning those that disagree with BO & I didn't get that one posted either! What I want to know is why don't they have the guts to post messages from those who don't agree with them? Isn't that a bit like oppression? Or squelching freedom of speech?
Sounds like "fun" - this "new" America BO proclaims to the masses that flock to him like he's some kind of Messiah or something. WTF? A world where we will be told WHAT to do, HOW to do it & WHEN to do it. Maybe even told how LONG to do it. Sounds like slavery to me. Hell, we're even going to be forced into socialist health care for all, even for illegal immigrants, who by the way will be welcomed to stay by Obama if you help elect him to be president. Please don't do it. Please reconsider!
Obama is not a marxist. He is a socialist as are the fear mongering "leadership" of the Democrat party. They used to say, "the only thing you have to fear is fear itself". Now they say, "the only thing you have to fear are Republicans, global warming, SUVs, and the crisis of the weak" (sic). That's great rhetoric, Mr. Obama. I know I get excited about the future when the Democrats give their hate America first speeches. BTW, is Oregon state #54 or 53? And who is that child he's emailing?
He's saying that Americans shouldn't be surprised that others in the world want the luxuries that Americans have too, and that Americans do not have some exclusive right to cheap energy. Americans have enjoyed low energy prices for so long they've lost sight of what others pay. That's now history. Now you have to adapt. 72F year round and an SUV will break your bank account. My thermostat is set at 80F in the summer/65F in the winter. I pay about $5.50/USG for gas in Canada, and we export oil.
How often is there a heat wave in Canada in the summer? Also, do you rely on nuclear for your electricity generation in Canada? Also, the population of Canada is much smaller than in the U.S. Also, Canada is drilling for much of the oil the U.S. imports and they are tapping into the oil sands in Alberta on a large scale which seems to be causing environmental damage from what I have read online. There is no perfect solution. (I keep my a/c on 76 degrees in summer and 68 in winter, I have a 4cyl.
25% energy use --- 3 % of population ----- how much of the worlds food supply ???? WOW we use more energy then ppl living in mud huts .. I'm in shock .. we should be freezing in the dark ...
The title of this video is completely misleading, just like all the other GOP lies "Iraq has WMD," "Mission Accomplished," "There is no Recession," "Iraq is a Success."
Yeah, you may produce some energy, but you IMPORT THE VAST MAJORITY. The U.S. produces about enough energy to keep a few cities lit up at night. Get over yourself, please. Like Obama said, 3% of the world's population consuming 25% of GLOBAL resources is not sustainable. If we ever turned off the oil tap to you, well, you'd be shivering in the cold or sweating it out in the heat while your SUV sits in the driveway empty of fuel within a month or so.
Do you think we would just sit there meekly if it ever came to that? We'd have our tanks across that border and filling up at Canadian gas stations so fast it would make your head spin!
Do you fucking apologists ever give it a rest? We consume 25%- we also have an economy- 18 times that of China- that produces millions of vehicles, ships, trains airplanes etc...that keep a good chunk of the world moving. Take your "sustainable" bullshit and shove deep into your clueless ass. If you want to help reduce consumption of resources, hold your breath long enough. Goddamned utopian leftist douche-bag.
The solutions to the world's energy, food, and health problems aren't going to come from a USA that's been converted into a neutered, demoralized, socialist welfare state, but Marxists like Obama could care less - it's all about power and control.
Our nation, and the rest of the world, can best be helped by free markets, free trade and free, unhindered creativity driven by the needs, wants and desires of consumers.
Turning from our Marxist course back to our own constitution is what we need!
fuck osama!. obama is worse

@jamieg1tube Thats hilarious that you think that, and you think your so right about it. Fascism is extremely socially conservative, and holds the belief that inequalities in wealth are beneficial to society, contrary to the view of socialists.

NoGuff 1 year ago
@NoGuff National socialism, is what nazi socialism is, and it isn't what people generally consider socialism. AGAIN, that is because it National Socialism holds the belief that inequalities in wealth are beneficial to society. Look, I'm not even a liberal, I am actually a libertarian, but people confusing the nazis with the liberal agenda, is just as bad as the liberals associating the republican foreign policy with the Nazis foreign policy.

"confusing the nazis with the liberal agenda"
--Its the extreme of the Liberal agenda.
"associating the republican foreign policy with the Nazis foreign policy"
--That's said for propaganda purposes.
NoGuff 1 year ago
@NoGuff Look at what i wrote to NoJunkorSpam, that is my opinion on associating Liberals with Nazis.
whotookmypiewtf 10 months ago
@whotookmypiewtf - So even if modern "liberals" (really leftists) and Nazis different on the outcome of the distribution of wealth it doesn't mean the means of getting to their goals differ all that greatly, especially when equality of wealth never happens? If both groups believe in a strong centralized government dictating the means of production does it really matter if American Leftists and the German Nazis disagree on how the wealth pie is cut? I'm not attacking! Just curious! :)
nojunkorspam 10 months ago
@nojunkorspam My real point is, why do we have to jump calling leftists "nazis"? The right does it to the left, and the left does it to the right. That kind of rhetoric is divisive, unfair, and counter productive. When one thinks of Nazis, typically a strong centralized government isnt the first thing that comes to mind, but more the evils that they were associated with. We need to start having real civilized debates, instead of using unfair scare tactics to get our message across.
whotookmypiewtf 10 months ago
@whotookmypiewtf
"When one thinks of Nazis, typically a strong centralized government isnt the first thing that comes to mind, but more the evils that they were associated with"
Liberalism is horribly misguided. It goes hand-in-hand w/ Leftism-Socialism-Communism-Fascism, which are evil. Think of the latter as arsonists, the former as people who like to play with fire, don't want arson to be a prosecutable offense, & find nothing wrong with it, but who may or may not go out burning stuff down
NoGuff 10 months ago
@whotookmypiewtf - But at what point does an adjective become name calling? It seems to me that the "Nazis" label was perfectly acceptable for decades and only became a problem when the right started applying it to the left. That said, I do get the impression that you're worrying about watering down a term that's strongly associated with genocide and massive evils like that, but we can never have civilized debates when the rules are so radically different depending upon what side you sit on.
nojunkorspam 10 months ago
@whotookmypiewtf No liberals are just Nazi's with a sense of hubris because they think they are smarter than others and have good intentions. They believe if you were only as intelligent as they are you would agree with them. Yes they most certainly are Nazi's.
TerrierToughGuy 5 months ago
@TerrierToughGuy If thats your opinion, so be it. But your not going to pump any sense into liberals by calling them Nazi's. If anything thats going to push them away from being open to your ideas. By calling liberals Nazis, you are contributing to the reason why America is so divided. You and I both know that liberals have no intentions of massive genocide, so why compare them to the most evil empire in history?
whotookmypiewtf 4 months ago
@whotookmypiewtf I find the written word somewhat lacking especially with a word like Nazi, a broad pejorative for sure. You see them as an ideology that promoted mass genocide, which is true. They were also much more than that, many people all over the world were simpatico with Nazi ideals before WWII. William Randolph Hearst, Joseph Kennedy , Charles Lindbergh, John Rockefeller, Andrew Mellon, DuPont, General Motors, Standard Oil, Ford, ITT, Allen Dulles, Prescott Bush and many more.
TerrierToughGuy 4 months ago
@whotookmypiewtf In other words, no one can be deceived without using truth. I consider what I consider to be liberals to be bereft of historical perspective and Aristotelian logic which is the basis of mathematics and all science. I do consider it a mental illness.Using simple logic one could never come to the conclusions that the left comes to regarding their view of social justice or what brings out the best in humanity. They create mediocrity and poverty while intending to alleviate it.

I NEVER said that you should take money out of the private sector. Money in manufacturing and production is exactly what we need.
what im opposed to are war-mongers that believe that bringing 'democracy' to another country will somehow fix the economy for everyone.
focus on ourselves for once, we americans are self centered to begin with, it shouldnt be too hard..
tomshorts07 2 years ago
Listen, this is a serious problem, we all can agree on that. Complaining about each others ideas will not solve the problem in any way, it will only exacerbate the issue more.
everyone needs to put support into current ideas, and continually think about alternatives, if the current plan doesnt work.
Rather than lose faith in american companies (AIG, GM, Chrysler) we should all be supporting with new ideas to change. Lord knows they need it.
If we sit on our asses, things will just get worse.

Does anyone else smell fraud?
I could go on and on; Anyone who recommends people (in these times) "barrow money to buy an RV" is totally out of touch with reality. WORSE is this clown is our president
Obama=Fraud
hindsight80 2 years ago
"BO" wouldn't have to spend all of this money if your beloved King George II didn't completely eff up the economy.
Just to clarify; during Clinton's term, we were in a SURPLUS- meaning we had money to spare.
Bush came along and de-regulated the banks and the housing markets, causing a massive rush to spend what we didnt have. Combine that with a war that was based on false pretenses, and you've got yourself an explanation, my friend.
Obama is only here a month, give him a chance, at least.
tomshorts07 2 years ago
Bush did not de regulate anything. It was the democrats that were in control of congress. i.e. Barney Frank. They pushed for the banks to give out loans, "so that every American can own their own home"
And as for the war, we have been pretty safe the last 7 years. Better to keep the fight out of your back yard. right?
People need to start realizing that they can't purchase what they cannot pay for. Why should government be any different? We cannot afford the stimulus package!!
tmenesses 2 years ago
I have to disagree, although the cuts were supported by democrats, the entire idea was created in a 'Kotov Syndrome' style rush to fix things. The fact still remains that King George II could have stopped it, or altered it during his 'reign', but he didn't.
And please, don't even get me started on this illegal war in Iraq, because I can very well prove my point.
tomshorts07 2 years ago
Don't equate the US government with the average household. The average household:
* Doesn't have the entire US tax base as a revenue stream
* Has a finite lifetime, the US can (in principle) exist indefinitely
* Can't run deficit spending
* Has debt/GDP ratio tied to GDP
Businesses work the same way. Most businesses often buy stuff they cant pay for--it's called leveraging. The US can certainly purchase what they cannot pay for, but they need to be responsible about it.
rader55555 2 years ago
Obama has to "spend all of this money" in order to fix an effed up economy?
I always heard about Emporer's new clothes and kool-aid drinking, but never thought I'd see it practiced quite like this.
TomShorts - please explain how government spending fixes the economy.
Explain how Bush's spending effed up the economy.
Will massive spending in my own household fix my own personal economy?
You just sort of say things without thinking, huh?
Sort of what Obama is counting on.
YachtCTottsie 2 years ago
Yacht, one can understand that govt spending helps the economy from the inside out.
say, for instance, the govt spends, oh- $10billion on rebuilding bridges - a good idea considering the current state of some of them.
the money used to pay workers, to purchase materials, etc, would all enter the economy, through the workers pockets, thus giving people a better situation.
Instead of spending on domestics, Bush spent on Iraq.
I do think, and I do see that money *thrown* at other countries is bad
tomshorts07 2 years ago
u have ZERO grasp of economics.
YachtCTottsie 2 years ago
The money is put into manufacturing here in America.
Planes, tanks, uniforms, boots, guns, jeeps, computers, communications equipment, the list goes on and on.
Whether you are anti-war or not, the fact remains that this is a stimulus every bit as much as you believe Obama's to be.
In fact. it is MORE of a stimulus. The moneys spent go to the private sector, as opposed to Obama funding only public works.
You oughta think before typing.
YachtCTottsie 2 years ago
listen, asshole; I do think before i type. you have to recognize that money spent on military paraphernalia isnt as effective as money spent on domestic works.
my good friend worked for the IRS until he retired a few years ago, and he can attest to the same idea.
history quiz: what did we do during the great depression? did we build tanks to level our cities? no, we had the WPA and public works programs.
granted, we had WWII, but as im sure you know, this goddamn war now sure isnt doing much.
tomshorts07 2 years ago
tomshorts07-the federal government is not authorized to spend money on building bridges; it's unconstitutional - and the states should have been fixing them instead of spending money on amenities, tourist attractions and bribes to get corporations to move to their state.
anoniab 2 years ago
anoniab- the federal government IS permitted to spend money on subsidized programs to construct bridges, parks, etc.

It's hypocritical for Obama to throw stones at others about their HABITS/ADDICTIONS when he struggles himself.

Take notice how all of your retorts amount to circular logic with the ignoble goal of defending a hack politician (that would be Obama).
My comments are based on ideology; I never once lauded McCain or defended Bush. In fact, I am hugely underwhelmed by McCain and Bush.
But given the alternative, I'll be voting for McCain -- with great delight. :-D

Thar, thar, pard. No need to get all riled.
To be continued....
finisher77 3 years ago
...When Obama says "citizen of the world," though, that's just another indication of his longing toward one-world government, totalitarianism, and a desire to hand the USA to the UN on a platter, docile and subservient to that fallacious organization. It's along the same lines of the Freudian-slip "57 states" comment. It's all too clear where Obama is coming from.
finisher77 3 years ago
And just listening to this little fragment of Obama-talk, you see where the man's priorities lie -- we must downgrade our quality of life to meet his "one-world" philosophy.
It's akin to the trite, dumb liberal philosophy: if there are poor people, then there should be no wealthy people; better that everyone is poor.
Obama and his ilk would be happy to dictate every facet of our lives for what they mistakenly see as "the common good"; he would have us sold short in the name of global parity.
finisher77 3 years ago
Come on now. . . even though we elect them, not all of us in the United States are dumb like our politicians seem to be of late.
vandergraaf56 3 years ago

This was Native American country first. You have no right to complain unless you're a Native American.

Change you WILL believe in -- or else.
Over my dead body.

what are you talking about? you sound paranoid to me.
vandergraaf56 3 years ago
I am talking about the hemorrhaging of personal freedom we have been experiencing in this nation for many years. The hemorrhaging has increased exponentially in the past decade or so, with loss of property rights, the constant attack on First and Second Amendment rights, the "we know what's best for you peons" liberal mentality, the global warming hoax which is just another behavioral control scheme, etc, etc. And Obama is an unqualified leftist totalitarian control freak. Are we clear?
finisher77 3 years ago
Oh, you mean, like how President Bush signed the Patriot Act? That's not chipping away at our liberties? And then to compound your proclivity to paranoia, you're going after Obama based on a video clip that linked from Rush Limbaugh's website, and you've got NADA to say about the Patriot Act? Yeah, he's a reliable sources. Please just STFU and go get therapy for your paranoia. And take Limbaugh with you. Maybe he can give you some of his meds. Delusional Neocon.
vandergraaf56 3 years ago
Take 'er easy, pilgrim. You dint even ask about the Patriot Act, yet you expect it addressed it in the 500 characters allowed?
Infringement against our liberties is a concern in any form.
Now take this pinhead Obama, this "citizen of the world" roaming his "57 states"; he's about as leftist and totalitarian as they come.
As a freedom-loving American, I am inclined to rail against any and all contrivances aimed at controlling every aspect of our lives.
Class is over, old chum.
finisher77 3 years ago
I hear you and agree that our liberties are of extremee importance. I have no problem with you there. But if you're going to address the issue, include the fact that the Patriot Act has encroached and suffocated some of our inalienable rights, i.e., privacy. It's funny how you condemn Obama for saying Citizen of the World yet you say nothing of McCain saying yesterday that we're all Georgians. So just STFU. Go vote for McCain or whatever. Obama doesn't need nor want your vote anyway.
vandergraaf56 3 years ago
I think you'll find he will need the votes. With the no drilling position and the Russians kicking up their heels, this is no time for an anti-oil, blame America first wimp in the white house. The Russians now have money because they are drilling for oil and we are getting weaker economically and militarily because the libs won't let us drill. $4 gallon gas and aggressive Russians three months before election day may hurt Obama more than you realize. Could be a perfect storm.
Ayinger 3 years ago
quote: "...we are getting weaker economically and militarily because the libs won't let us drill..." end quote.
please explain.
vandergraaf56 3 years ago

BitterSweetCracker 3 years ago
I don't even bother viewing the videos the Obama campaign posts because they do not allow anything negative against the campaign to be posted in response. I don't view their videos, it's a waste of time. It's all an orchestrated effort to make him appear in a favorable light. They are very good at doing this. He is also paying people to go on the internet and post favorable things about Obama. His whole campaign is a sham. He reminds me of Mugabe in Zimbabwe. They will threaten any dissent.
Srhandel 3 years ago

I pay about $5.50/USG for gas in Canada, and we export oil.
rokmontez 3 years ago
How often is there a heat wave in Canada in the summer? Also, do you rely on nuclear for your electricity generation in Canada? Also, the population of Canada is much smaller than in the U.S. Also, Canada is drilling for much of the oil the U.S. imports and they are tapping into the oil sands in Alberta on a large scale which seems to be causing environmental damage from what I have read online. There is no perfect solution. (I keep my a/c on 76 degrees in summer and 68 in winter, I have a 4cyl.

Since when does the energy that america produces prevent other nations from producing energy?
If other nations want to use more energy, then they can produce it like us!
jeffn21 3 years ago 9
Yeah, you may produce some energy, but you IMPORT THE VAST MAJORITY. The U.S. produces about enough energy to keep a few cities lit up at night. Get over yourself, please. Like Obama said, 3% of the world's population consuming 25% of GLOBAL resources is not sustainable. If we ever turned off the oil tap to you, well, you'd be shivering in the cold or sweating it out in the heat while your SUV sits in the driveway empty of fuel within a month or so.
rokmontez 3 years ago
Do you think we would just sit there meekly if it ever came to that? We'd have our tanks across that border and filling up at Canadian gas stations so fast it would make your head spin!
emb145flyer 3 years ago
