I'm also American and maybe the reason some of them don't want to call it a sport is because the top player in our country is ranked #442 in the world. It's nothing I'm laughing at, just a fact.
I find this more of a sport than football/soccer, because it's like a billion times harder. This is why most stupid people are footballsupporters, because it's the easiest sport. All tabletennis proffessionals are highly intelligent. Table tennis is far, far superiour.
@NexxtGen EASIEST SPORT?? Jesus mofochrist! If what you said is true then why there is so little stupid shot put "supporters"? Or stupid Javelin "supporters"? Or even stupid SPRINTS "supporters" ?? I do believe that those sports I have said is A LOT EASIER than football!
I get it that you hate football, it's your opinion and I respect that. But what you said is just downright ignorant and disgraces other Table Tennis fans (ME included)
i particularly like mizutani's style because it's laid back, smooth and elegant. he also has aggressive blocks, very good lobbing ability (but not as good as maze's). boll is a more aggressive mizutani, or mizutani a more defensive boll. boll's topspin is his forte and he is very consistent on both wings.
the thing i really don't like about mizutani and boll's styles is that they keep their arm so close to the body! isn't it restrictive on movement? i see mizutani many times he has to awkwardly bend to hit a forehand, when no one doing the chinese full arm loop would ever need to!
Those two are such a good matchup, two lefties, similar equipment and styles, the two best examples of shakehand Euro-Jap style. With Mizutani beating Boll recently at the team championships and him being younger, Mizutani is the new, younger Timo Boll.
@topgear14789 Well that's just flat out racist, because they have a lot of variety in their lineup. Penhold attackers, backhand focused blockers, two wing loopers, attackers, etc. and they are always turning out top junior players. Plus they're so small and cute looking! Like little children trying to play with adults.
@Opalance chinese people and japaneze people are always in the gym working out, german players and other european players, they enjoy life, they go in to the pub. and chinese people are just shit. and yes it's racist, but it is true.
I think timo is probably second best in the world right now to Wang Hao, i dont think he has the power to beat wang hao cos he cant pin him down his backhand like he can ma lin. Timo is so consistent and has a way of getting everything back which is what makes him great.
Challenge them to beat you within a month of playing. Tell them that no matter how hard they practiced in a month that they can never beat you and rub it in hard. If they fall for it then they will inadvertadly become addicted to table tennis in the process.
I hate the fact that there are so many Americans that continue to say table tennis is NOT a sport.... look at these guys!!!!! They're fucking siiiccccckkkk!!!
Do you mean to say "tiny tennis" is a sport? :P I get a very light sweat from playing with you and others, but it's more of a mental game then strength and stamina. Many people call poker a sport. How silly is that? It's also a fact that you don't have to move from the table or move at all to play. Yes, you have big advantages of doing so in most situations, but, at no point in the game are you actually "forced" to move at all. There is also a big luck factor with nets and edges.
You're moving a lot more than you think, also, in any racket sport, if you want the ball to got fast, you must hit the hardest you cant, whether its a tiny racket or a big, which means nadal and boll both force to their maximum strenth in every possible hit(I'm not saying boll is a s powerful far from there haha xD) but still, it's a fast sport, what makes it a fast sport is that you must hit fast... playing for fun isn't sweaty at all, as you are more concentrated to just bring the ball back...
in table tennis you can get away with not having very muscular arms since you can generate a lot of power with a loose wrist, but your legs have to be very strong if you want to play good.
you getting a light sweat when playing is laughable because real table tennis (not amateur ping pong) is very exhausting. a study showed 20 minutes of intense table tennis is more exhausting than 20 minutes of intense basketball.
sure you don't "have to" move, you will just lose badly. ;)
@BLUeCLimbers lol saying it isnt a sport kinda implies it doesnt take physical effort or coordination , i would love to see 99.99% of those people perform with the motor skills of these guys.most americans are also to fat for tt
americans don´t like the sport because they are no good at it

What a point! The forehand return from Boll a few points from the end is what set up the win for him. Awesome skills on both sides of the net.

Impresionante último punto. Me ha encantado. Para mí, estos dos jugadores tienen , según mi opinión uno de los juegos de revés más bonitos y ténicos.

WOW!! What a game!! What a play!!
I find that the world top players tend to have the respect for each other, and if one
would make a super shot or rally, the opponent would make sure to show his
respect to the others.
I think that is so beautiful and they are good sports!!

Thanx. I grew up with the 38. The 40 seems like I'm batting a beachball, but then again, that's just what I remember.

Thank You. They are young and obviously more accustomed to the "slower" ball.

Sorry if the 40mm seems a bit cumbersome.
