@Keirnoth I sadly have the game for xbox and my pc blows too much ass to play dmc 4. So what kind of controller should I get for dante (Can I even get one?)
@LightDontShine Sorry fort he late reply, and sorry to say I never used one. I personally think the Playstation 2 Dual Shock 2 controller is the de-facto controller to use for the game. Anything that has L2/R2 for triggers is BAD for games like this. You don't need triggers for beat'em ups like this IMO. Looking at the Onza, I can already tell this is made more for people who play FPSes and driving games - the L2/R2 in the back are triggers, not buttons like the old PS2 controllers are.
@Keirnoth actually, the onza comes with 2 extra programmable buttons above r1 and l1. So I change the triggers to the new buttons instead. Unfortunately, i cant shift it up one button, I can only change the trigger buttons to the programmable ones above r1 and l1 (exceed only allows triggers so r1 and l1 wasn't allowed). So triggers won't be in use, but I just have to get use to learning that the exceed is above l1. Dante I can changeproperly, but ill get confused switching between char
I unfortunately have the 360 version and i absolutely agree about the dante style changing because it ALWAYS switchs between like 14 styles when your just trying to switch to one soo should i just stick with the ps3 version or pc and trade my 360 version in?
@Keirnoth can i play DMC3 and 4 both with PS2 and super dual box pro.....with vibration working in pc....can u suggest me any game controller that will work with DMC3 pc....
@kobraxrdelta PS3 controllers DO work for PC. Look up MotionJoy using Google.
The main difference, like I said in my video is because of the "Triggers" (L2 and R2). The PS2 pad has digital triggers - they're either on or off (which is all you need for this game). PS3 pads have analog triggers, you have to apply extra pressure for the computer/console to register a button input and are not ideal for games like this. Great for racing games, bad for games like DMC. :)
@dRay2TH3M4XIII I actually have the full second release recorded and encoded here, but I feel the quality of it isn't that great (I also missed a couple things). So I'm going to try do a second recording with a bit more organization so that it's shorter and easier to swallow. The recording ended up being a whopping 1 hour!
Keirnoth you're walkthroughs and tutorials are great and after watching your clips MANY times I rly started to play better than b4. You ROCK man!!! btw when you will upload part 2
I think the xbox controller is fine... Even though it may not be as great as a ps2 controller for the pc it will be cheaper for most people and much less of a hassle to make it work. I can play with danté pretty decent right now and what you said about switching styles will have a delay is not true at all (well not for mine at least!).
PS2 controller is probably better... But would I do a lot of efford to get one and a usb converter etc.... Nah
@lnmylife It costs $10 to get a converter plus $20 for the PS2 controller. Try to switch styles quickly in succession - you saw what I do with the ground Trickster dash then cancel into Royal Guard then Trickster dash, etc? The plastic on the X360 Dpad is such that it doesn't "depress" fast enough for me to be able to do it smoothly. I'm sure with some effort you can get it to work for you, but IMO in the long run it will only help your game if you invest in a controller. :)
@lnmylife The training mode is Debug Mode. I mentioned it in this video. I'll leave a link in the description for the forum thread where you can download the patch to do it. You activate the Debug Mode by pressing L1, L2, and R1 simultaneously. It lets you do all sorts of nifty things like make yourself or monsters invincible, slow things down, give yourself infinite DT, Pandora, and Royal Guard meter, etc. without having to pick Super Nero or Super Dante.
Gotta say, it's one hell of a feeling when you play this game for a hella long time and being so bad ass at it, it's quite rewarding. Just as you said, it's like a fighting game.. it takes commitment. Great tutorial. Have you played any MvC3 yet?
Also, you should play DMC4 on PC so that you can get Legendary Dark Knight mode :)
I'm really glad you're making that kind of tutorial. I've beaten Bloody Palace many times with Nero, but never with Dante, so I'm waiting for his video especially :)

Knowing your a big DMC fan, what do you think on the new one?
MasterNinja1250 1 month ago
@MasterNinja1250 I really don't like the direction it took. I don't like the way the gameplay looks, and I don't want Ninja Theory touching it.
In other words, why did Capcom have to do it? :(

@Keirnoth Yes, your so right. Guess were just going to be happy with the DMC collection coming out this april.

Is there any difference between using a PS2 controller and a PS3 controller for PC? Sixaxis doesn't work anyways so why waste money?
