The man on the ship, firing, was a Nigerian Navy representative. He shot the engine of the rib out, which is what prevented them boarding.
This video is very inconclusive. Could the so called "heavily armed pirates" be diverted by a lone and somewhat shaky gunman? Please change the title or remove Nigeria from it and stop the mudslinging on the fatherland. Pirates are all over the world and this clip makes a mockery of the real dangers of piracy at sea.
