One of the worst movies I have ever seen... I was aspecting some special effects but it seems that toiletpaper was more important, I have seen the anime on tv sinds my early childhood. They made an anime not for nothing. They allready made a full anime movie about the series.. so no clue why and especially how they had the courage to put this movie on tv. This is a comedy about an awesome anime.

Best part was when Jaggy says, "It ain't easy bein' sleezy." And the movie has mid level actors. Gary Daniels is actually an awesome fighter. For a funny scene check Jackie Chan's 'City Hunter' where Jackie plays Chun Li and Daniels play Ken.

@saifrizwan To be quite honnest, Hokuto no ken shouldn't be hard to do it's just a martial art series whith special effects (there lot of drama too but you know what i mean). Though this movie is shit, they are at least closer to the original hokuto no ken than DBE is to the original DragonBall. I don't think making a live action movie of this series was a bad idea they just didn't exploit the potential right (like pretty much all american live action anime adaptation).

You could almost take anyone and pull off Kenshiro moves, why???, because no martial artist can do what he does. I'm not even talking about blowing up bodyparts via pressure points. His 60 kicks per minute, whirlwind flying kicks, punches that slowly lift the opponent off the ground, etc etc.

There is far too much suspension of disbelif in hokuto no ken. He is too much like superman without the cape. It works in anime because the whole world is skewed to the absurd. There are moving scenes in Hokuto, loss, friendship, brutality, but it is intermixed with ridiculous scenes, which is part of the whole hokuto ethos. martial arts vaulted into superhuman psuedo magical katas. Upshot, the movie would have to center around the power struggle between the brothers.

To be quite honnest, the the thung of the movie act in a pretty similar as in the anime (laugting like idiot and enjoying what they do to the innoocent people) the real thing is that in hokuto no ken, they don't look threatening enought especialy the one at 4:18.

I actually know Kenshiro since I was a kid, anyone from the 1977/78/79...(in Italy) knows and love this anime... I watched this suck ass movie 2 weeks ago and I was so excited (before seeing it) then as soon as I saw the main carachter's face I started to doubt it... At the beginning there is one of the thugs who is wearing red lipstick... And the (gay) blonde guy who gets killed by Chin???

As said before, anime in general is not meant to be live action. Its much to exaggerated in to many ways. Fist of the north star being the WORST anime to do in live action. Its hard enough not laughing in the anime at points but live action just looks ridiculously embarrassing. I could maybe see this being redone now, problem is must be done in Japanese, nothing else is "kenshiro" enough. I think the outrageous effects that are easily done in Anime are harder to pull off even green screened, it would need a lot of post processing, should maybe be a cg movie instead. I actually liked the actor, but in all honesty Kenshiro is an homage to a Bruce Lee / Stallone hybrid. Kenshiro does almost no speaking, and the plot can only be a microcosm of the depth the anime is.

Btw, I think that you should have complain on the casting of Ken. He's play by an White kickboxer. I know some of you might find what i'm about to say annoying but i believe that Kenshiro should have been play by some one that look like Bruce Lee (asian) and is an overall better fighter than Gary Daniels. After all, the universe of Hokuto no ken is heavly based on mad max but Ken himself is a clone/hommage to Lee. Sadly, this movie erase every single trace of Bruce influence (no "Atatata" 4 ex)

I agree 100% for the top 5 part but to be honnest, pretty much every adaptation movie are pointless. I don't think it's fair to say that because HNK is based on a movie it shouldn't be made since alot of comic book and video games are inspired by movie and litterature. I mean, usualy, every good idea come from somewhere. I personaly like the idea of turning comix into films. Unfortunatly, movie makers are usauly not fans of the original piece and do it for the money rather than for the art.

The manga was absolutely superb and the anime was pretty good too, so when I saw "Fist of the North Star" late one night while flipping channels and I though I would check it out.

Damaged psychologically, I immediately changed the channel and watched some shitty romantic comedy instead while attempting to piece together my shattered reality. Why the fuck do they rape the hell out of good things with shitty western live interpretations?

You need to work on enunciation and, more important to the style of your writing, proper intonation. Your accent is totally fine and not the issue: A lot of your humor falls flat because you're not delivering it well and it comes off rather monotonous (which would work for some material, e.g. cold, dry humor), but not what you're doing here.
