Magic. The melody sings. The romance of the magician's heart beats through this composition again. Is it Constance or is it with the music of life itself? Or both ...
Wonderful orchestration Phillip, true independence and beauty in each voice. You have a mastery of space (giving the listener time to take in what they have just heard).Beautiful.
In love - but with which Weber girl? This sounds yearning and unfulfilled, so perhaps it's Aloysia. As usual, Phillip, your sophistication finds new universes in the simplicity of this arrangement. Nicely stated, lingering in the memory.
rasputia, music should be uncomplicated for the listener - I wish more composers could grasp this. Nothing should get in the way of the enjoyment of a piece.
I really like this. I appreciate the simplicity in your tonality, phrasing and counterpoint; composition with simple melody is far more moving than that of the type that's been encouraged over the past century+.
Hi Phillip. Lovely to see (actually not see) you again.. And of course you have once again shared your brilliance with us with another terrific composition.. I haven't tried to interpret it or even to imagine what was in you mind when you wrote it, but just so you know, I think it is beautiful.
Hmm - I have found that brevity lends breadth. Counterpoint achieves an economy of style which in turn allows the brevity that lends breadth, if this at all makes sense. I know what I mean, but it's hard to pinpoint exactly.
You have everything you need, trust me and keep going!
My dear composer this piece is marvellous, sophisticated. I adored found her dense and simply gracious. My sincere congratulations and which God keeps on blessing and inspires

@getreadytowiggle1991 It's a companion piece to my other oboe/string work "1791". I like it too, so that means I'm also glad you like it!
