  • I really like this!

  • @getreadytowiggle1991 It's a companion piece to my other oboe/string work "1791". I like it too, so that means I'm also glad you like it!

  • Magic. The melody sings. The romance of the magician's heart beats through this composition again. Is it Constance or is it with the music of life itself? Or both ...

  • Wonderful orchestration Phillip, true independence and beauty in each voice. You have a mastery of space (giving the listener time to take in what they have just heard).Beautiful.

  • belle orchestration !! merci ******

  • Wonderful

  • Thank you for listening and commenting.

    I appreciate it.

  • In love - but with which Weber girl? This sounds yearning and unfulfilled, so perhaps it's Aloysia. As usual, Phillip, your sophistication finds new universes in the simplicity of this arrangement. Nicely stated, lingering in the memory.

  • There's yearning, yes.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you like it.

Love does tend to linger, doesn't it! hehehe

  • rasputia, music should be uncomplicated for the listener - I wish more composers could grasp this. Nothing should get in the way of the enjoyment of a piece.

  • Hi there,

How are things your side of the world?

Odd - I was thinking of you a couple of hours ago and here you are!

    Ever,

    Phillip

  • I thought I would visit here for a dose of some of your music - I'm like a bee to the flower...:)

This is one of my fave pieces - in a long line of many though, you know what I'm like :))

  • That's sweet!

It's always nice to touch base with you.

    Blessings friend :):):)

  • I really like this. I appreciate the simplicity in your tonality, phrasing and counterpoint; composition with simple melody is far more moving than that of the type that's been encouraged over the past century+.

  • Thank you for your thoughtful and thought provoking comment.

    Simplicity is everything.

    Blessings.....

  • This is a beautiful piece Phillip.

So glad to have discovered you thanks to Youtube.

I probably would have one way or another though.

Where is it possible to purchase your CD's?

  • Thank you Sean.

I'll send you a message about the CDs......

  • @PhillipLWilcher The music goes very well ;), I'm preparing for competition so I couldn't find time to add any video on YT

  • I send you best wishes for the competition.

    You should do well!

    Blessings......

  • @PhillipLWilcher Thank you:)

  • Hi Phillip. Lovely to see (actually not see) you again.. And of course you have once again shared your brilliance with us with another terrific composition.. I haven't tried to interpret it or even to imagine what was in you mind when you wrote it, but just so you know, I think it is beautiful.

    Love

    Lalita

  • Thank you Lalita. This is really a companion piece to my other work "1791".

    I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • I try again, seams like YT dont want me to comment, hehe..

Absolutely amazing :) I enjoyed it a lot, listened a few times now, and its very beautiful :) 5*

  • Thank you Thomas.

I look forward to hearing more work from you soon too. Keep creating!

  • Lovely counterpoint and space, Phillip. Wish I could get the knack of the space thing. Music that breathes is so nice.

    *****

  • Hmm - I have found that brevity lends breadth. Counterpoint achieves an economy of style which in turn allows the brevity that lends breadth, if this at all makes sense. I know what I mean, but it's hard to pinpoint exactly.

You have everything you need, trust me and keep going!

  • Very beautiful, the music of life.

  • That's a lovely and sustaining thought. Thank you!

  • Amazing *****

  • Thank you!

  • Amazing !!!!

  • My dear composer this piece is marvellous, sophisticated. I adored found her dense and simply gracious. My sincere congratulations and which God keeps on blessing and inspires

    Blessings.......
