I recall dancing to this song at a party celebrating the end of my freshman year in high school in 1959. I was there with Charlotte my first girl friend. We made out all evening. I had played in a baseball game earlier in the day and had several hits including a home run. That was a pretty good day. Where have days like that gone? Never let the days escape you. I heard this song 55 years ago when my father bought his first phonograph record. I knew no English words at that time, but loved this song ever since. Many many years later when I found my true love, I managed to get a CD for him. And he played it for me all the time.

Some songs and singers can just touch you deeply, Earl Grant did that with this beautiful, meaningful song. Released in September of 1958 it became a National Hit and his biggest seller. Earl was an accomplished mult-instrument Musicain, Composer, Band Leader, Vocalist and Actor. He would have been a Super Star if it wasn't for his untimely death in 1970. RIP
