I recall dancing to this song at a party celebrating the end of my freshman year in high school in 1959. I was there with Charlotte my first girl friend. We made out all evening. I had played in a baseball game earlier in the day and had several hits including a home run. That was a pretty good day. Where have days like that gone? Never let the days escape you. They will never come again. Carpe Diem.
I heard this song 55 years ago when my father bought his first phonograph record. I knew no English words at that time, but loved this song ever since. Many many years later when I found my true love, I managed to get a CD for him. And he played it for me all the time.

i just heard this song in my AM radio and i find it here, my god so beautiful. and to think that i was not yet born when this song released... this song is immortal...
This and Earl's "Imitation of Life" are classics to match any. Memories of Nat King Cole but Earl probably had a wider range. Sad when he left us. Thanks for the posting. Andy - Singapore
Some songs and singers can just touch you deeply, Earl Grant did that with this beautiful, meaningful song. Released in September of 1958 it became a National Hit and his biggest seller. Earl was an accomplished mult-instrument Musicain, Composer, Band Leader, Vocalist and Actor. He would have been a Super Star if it wasn't for his untimely death in 1970. RIP
I am so glad I was young enough when this song came out to have enjoyed this song for the many years I have enjoyed it. It's true...they don't make songs like this any more. This was surely from a gentler time. Thanks for posting. Love Earl Grant's Ebb Tide also. Beautiful photos and video!
what a beautiful song. it was the time when singers were singing and not just making noise. it reminds me of times of long ago when we were listening to the american forces network to learn about the new hits of the united states. great times and great memories. greetings from bavaria and thanks for posting this wonderful song!
Everytime I hear this song, it reminds me of THAT night... THAT night it played for us on the old AM car radio... THAT night... and I always cry. So beautiful, so very beautiful.
I remember the first time I met my ex in the club had this song, I had her in my arms drool like a 6 monthes old baby.
Up to now, when I hear this song , I still remember every second of that night after 20 years. My eyes fills with tears and I can not hold back my emotion. What a song!!!!!!!!!
