@ArtfulDodger92 It was both.1995-1997, it was roughly where part of Rita/Thirteen's queue are now. It then moved to where Submission is now from 1998 to 2000, then from 2001 returned to its original position.

@flamecrawl10 Haha idiot. Black hole was closed down because Alton towers was sued for that part of the park being too noisey. Alton towers had the choice to close oblivion or black hole. The chose the right one to be honest.

@KingAntonius What total rubbish - Black Hole closed because the HSE insisted the ride needed new evacuation platforms, andthe park decided it wasn't worth the cost. Oblivion did have problems with noise complaints, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the Black Hole

Can someone tell me why a lot of these 'older' rides like the mouse, the beast, black hole etc get closed down? Is it just because they are only allowed a certain amount of rides to be operating at one point in order to create a better profit margin? I cannot believe they have got rid of such amazing rides! I miss the Black Hole.

Most of the rides got removed due to oldness, tracks cracking and maintenance issues :/ Shame really to see all the classics go :(

as soon as the energizer moved to the x-sector the ride program became tame and not thrilling in anyway. i believe if Alton Towers still had ride in the park, with the original program, the queues would be lengthy years after its been installed.

For your information it did not get replaced by Rita. Issues with the workings and maintenance of the ride caused it to be removed. yes, it was a great ride, but not as good as Rita, 0--100KMh in 2 secs!!!

The thunder looper can be found at Hopi Hari in Brazil. I also believe the track to the black hole has been re-located somewhere (also in brazil). The black hole is a Schwarzkopf Jet Star II which can be found at a number of places (just search on google)

when it was energizer in 96 or 97 it used to be a much more intense ride before it went to x sector, theres a rumour going around that one of the operators at the time managed to swing it right upside down!!
