  • After dancing with him, Makarova found herself falling for him--absolutely in love with him. She called him one of her favorite partners. But alas, because of his sexual preference (like many other gentlemen in this profession), he could only offer her friendship at best. Like many ballerinas, she always saw herself falling for another dancer. Her partner. Don't they all? And you can see why here. "We had such chemistry. He's so strong," she said. We agree.

  • The music is Andante Spianato by Chopin. Sheer loveliness.

  • The links to being able to purchase this have expired. Do you know where I might aquire a copy please?

  • Perfection - both the dancing and the choreography

  • Simply breathtaking, they're both at their absolute best. And how nice to see her in a role that's not one of her usuals, yet still Romantic. And how much she looks like Pavlova here! Ashton clearly devised a role that would have been Pavlova's had she still been alive.

  • gorgeous!

  • One of my all time favorite Ashton pieces.
