I had to wait a long time to see this, and I am happy to say the film lived up to the build-up! :D
Very good film. It's fantastic to see the promising potential of the screenplay translated to an impressive final product. Very good camerawork, and for the first time in a student film, the acting didn't make me cringe! The man playing Digby I thought was the standout, his acting was very good.
High quallity for a VCE student film. Love the aesthetic, very 'I'm not There' during the Kate Blanchette scenes.
Actors are good. ;)
After watching now a sixth or seventh time, you need to work on your editing. Particularly with cuts during dialogue, there are often a few too many and it doesn't help the scene or the actors performances.
But that said, still definately one of the better films I've seen produced by the VCE students this year.
ah yes, by the editing i assume you are referring to the middle section when Digby cracks it at Leigh. I myself, cannot stand to watch that scene, as the editing is disjointed. Unfortunately, I lost a small amount of transition footage specified for that scene.
That was good. Love the style and I'm a sucker for a black and white films so yeah that got me too. Anyway, I feel like there could be more to the story...like the death of wife meant not a lot because we didn't even know her. I think if there was little more of the relationship between Digby and Ruby I think it would have been perfect! It's great the way it is. Good luck.
I would have liked to have explored that aspect of the film a lot more, but unfortunately there was a time limit (10 Minutes) on how long the films could be due to it being a school assessed film. Originally, Ruby was the one who influenced Digby's dark side of drugs, but I had no real time to explore this.
yeah really well done hope you get more views.

Nice job. The only highlight of my movie was simply a student jumping out of a bin and throwing bottles at people XD
