i would loooove to see this band live. but all the bands i like are from Europe. chances they come to Texas are very slim. although i did see cradle of filth when they came into town.
this band is more than OK..I see where your coming from, but you won't find another band like these guys..they are like the black metal opeth. I've never heard anyone else blast beat while playing clean notes over good clean vocals like these guys do.
Why should they tour with such a mediocre and above all overrated band. Opeth offer nothing new on the table and never have. They have one good song and that's it. Akercocke are several classes above them in terms of musicianship, depth and songwriting.

Umm ok
a) This isnt music. This is noise
b) I cant underestand a fucking word hes saying
c) Wtf is up w/ the crowd
P.S. I like metal/hard rock/rock. So dont think im critizising metal/hard rock/rock cuz I love Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers. If I get any replies like that im gonna be po.
I agree with the crowd comment..what the fuck, this song is completely viable to headbang to. If I was there, that's all I would've been doing. I like the trio of headbangers in the front though.
I think that the audio of this video sucked ass so bad that "they" had to put a cd-audio on this. And it seems that this is filmed by some roadie or a guitar/bass/drum tech without an professional filming gear. Nevermind still fucking good video.
Yeah, i think that audio is the actual track on the cd words that go unspoken, deeds that go undone. Still a good video.... i watch it like 3 times a week :D
Is this really live? If so. One of the best bands around. Sounds exactly as on the LP. Perfect. And the mix is also relatively good, compared to other DM/BM recordings you find on youtube. Love it.
it definantly synched you tools, wheres the echo from the hall? where is the sound from the fans? i dont care who you are, regardless of how tight you are live, you sound different live than on the album.
I've dropped the original poster (i.e. the producer) a line, so maybe he'll clear things up for us. In the meantime, though, I must say that it's not at all implausible that the audio is live. There are pre-production and post-production techniques to get a good sound, including unidirectional microphones (made famous with the "Dean Scream" in 2004). Pros could not produce their high-quality live recordings without such tools, and there's no reason to rule out such tools here.
I stand corrected. If I had looked at the comment history I would've seen this comment from the OP: "If I hadnt [sic] overdubbed it you would no doubt be complaining that all you could hear was drums." I'd still like it if he'd clarify what he means by "overdubbing" -- i.e. on the one hand, the incorporation of select features of the studio (or other) recording with the live, or, on the other hand, the wholesale replacement of all existing audio frequencies.
This band is a cut above in every respect -- intelligent, well-spoken, disdainful of the conformity of their allegedly non-conformist fans, and lyrically and stylistically challenging. I'm really impressed with these guys, and I hope we see them for years and decades to come.
I'm pretty sure this is live, 'cuz if it is dubbed, then the synching is beyond brilliant -- but no, I think rather that (a) the videographer is an exceptionally good one, and (b) Akercocke have a tight act in or out of the studio. See approx. 5'14" for a close up of Mendonca when he's singing -- it's less plausible that that is synched than that it is simply a good performance and a good recording.
saw them for the first time in august 07 with ted maul etc etc. fucking amazing...i was the youngest there at the tender age of 13 haha...great laugh though
To tell you the truth, I haven't moshed in years. When I was younger, it was cool, but now if I'm spending money to see a band I want to watch the band, not desperately avoid getting kicked or punched in the head.
Because the pronunciation of 'murDerandVAnity' through a death grunt runs into 'NURtURingcOncEIt'; they sound similar, and thus redundant. Just from the placing, I can tell he IS actually singing those two words, otherwise the intro would be shorter. Mendonca focuses on getting the damned sound out, and then trying to fit it to diction.
from my point of view from the crowd, a lot of people liked it. people were talking about how good they were after they played but everyone was waiting for the epic 2 hour opeth set so i guess people were just saving their energy
you can't win can you? haha overdub it and people complain it isn't live, but if you leave it as it is people complain they can't hear anything haha oh well sod's law
Well people who complain about poor live quality are idiots. I'd rather hear poor quality live sound then an overdub any day, at least you can get an idea of what they sound like live.
I'm DavidVII07, different username, for some reason.

It just sounds so damn good.

It is. It's just chugging on an open string, and doing some power chords here and there.
It's surprisingly easy to play, but alas easy = / = not good.
