  • She is so beautiful, I enjoyed hearing her talk about her career she has such class. I don't really like the interviewer though I think they could have chosen another person.... anyway she was amazing :)

  • An important part of the golden age of the dance musical.Kelley, Astaire, Rogers, Robbins, and Charisse...all made their contributions. What an era it was!

  • What a shame to blow such an opportunity! While she did have a direct way about her, she was, on most occasions, very forgiving and elegant by all accounts when matters or others she was working with stalled progress. In my opinion she went beyond the call of duty with this interviewer. This fiasco was more of an inquisition than an interview. A grand moment opportunity lost and frankly, I'm stunned that she sat there put up with it so graciously...we could have learned so much more!

  • Best legs ever put on film. Certainly the longest.

  • A lady on all counts... even when her dancing was hot and sassy....

  • anniemihn says 'an animal & a princess all at once' - good description of the enigma..

I, however, feel that in her craft, this lady was simply a True Star, the embodiment of intelligence & strength, calm passion & technique... always ready to unleash the full force of that craft with perfect interpretation for the role & the occasion...qualities which she was very fortunate to be able to hold steadfast throught both her professional &, it seems, personal Life.

    An inspiration. A True Star.

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Charisse. It was odd...I met many MGM stars through the biz, Miss Charisse was very cold in signing my "Band Wagon" poster..it had been previously signed by Astaire, Fabray and Levant.

  • @tallpaul521 Was she nice at all?

  • uploaded a day after her death . sad.

  • I never thought it was just entertainment Cyd, thankyou for your contribution to dance and your dignity.

  • I don't like this interviewer. He's coming on way too strong and constantly asking questions. Let her speak Dammit!!! She's a LEGEND.

  • She was glamourous til the end. Few were, Hedy Lamarr, Ginger Rogers and Veronica Leke were a waste at the end.

  • Cyd Charisse is the definition of the word LADY.

  • I've talked with people who knew Cyd and they all say the same thing. She was poised, thoughtful and above all the epitome of class in her speech, her always gorgeous appearance, her classic style and her never feeling any need to show off. She and Tony were certainly responsible citizens of the Hollywood community, serving many good causes.

  • Just an elegant life. Thank you Cyd!

  • we miss her...imo "Dancing in The Dark" with Astaire from Bandwagon is maybe the

most eloquent partner dance on film...

  • The Most Beautiful Woman

  • She had class and had gorgeous legs. Great dancer.

  • She is so beautiful, so dignified and elegant, so soft spoken and feminine, just like her exquisite dancing. They don't make them like that anymore...too bad... Your kind is sorely missed! The world was a much more glittering, magical place with you in it.

  • Even in her 80's she is classy and gorgeous!

  • Look at all of these, "celebrities" getting plastic surgery and going on all of these idiotic, foolish diets, making god awful, "music" and raking in the money by doing absolutely nothing.......and then look at her....my point has been given....=)

  • i am related to her! ha

  • time will come that we will get old...

  • Ladies, of today need this class.

  • her voice sounds so nice

  • you got that right.

  • A slap on the face for today's celebrities who flaunt their fabricated beauty, promiscuity and attention seeking behavior. This lady was the epitome of CLASS, beauty and talent...and did I say CLASS?

  • reb. People do not care about class now. All they care about is fame. Take Mariah Carey and Beyonce. They have little talent, but they have made huge fortunes that impress their fans. It is all about money now. That is what makes America great.

  • @swanningaround

"People do not care about class now. All they care about is fame" I totally agree, but the two ladies that you named can actually sing. lol. I get your general point though. Having said that, those ladies don't hold a candle to Cyd Charisse. I just love her.

  • she has aged so gracefully

  • She was a cutie pie - just watched her and Fred Astaire in The Band Wagon

  • Cyd Charisse was everything, even the greatest aunt I never knew.

  • Cyd Charisse and Judith Jamison are the two greatest female dancers of all time.

  • Easy to assess Cyd, she had incredible looks, a superb dancer and a great actress. She epitomised the word CLASS!!!

  • oh・・・Cyd Charisse !

You are super star for me forever.

Thank you for your great performance

in singing in the rain ☆

  • I love cyd charisse, I feel inspired by her beautiful dancing and her beauty in general. She was an authentic talent and I'll probably revisit her work for the rest of my life.

  • Cyd was one of the most beautiful ladies of all time. She could dance like an angel. Even when she got older, she still looked beautiful, still had a good figure, and those legs!!!! ZZ Topp had Cyd in mind when they wrote the song, "Legs" Lucky for us, we can still watch her movies! Classy Lady

  • one classy dame.

  • a very very talented lady full of class, there is no one like her anymore. Grew up watching Miss Charisse. I am a Filipino born and back home they show a lot of these old movies that you don't see here in the states. I am so honored to have shared the joy and memorable performance miss Charisse brought when I was growing up she is such an inspiration. Dance away i heaven Charisse I will miss you

  • beautiful talented dance act and class and so much more ....

it does actually innoy me when there like 'high school musical' stars triple threat-omg NO! cyd was.....they dont say 'they dont make them like they use to' for a reason.....there are very few that can come 'close' to her (and most legends actually) knowadays! legend!

  • what year was this interview?

  • How this lady could have been so incredibly gorgeous and sexy as hell and at the same time so classy as a true aristocrat? An animal and a princess all at once"! I don´t get it, jus don´t...What a legend!

  • Is this whole interview somehow available?

  • When Tony Martin appeared at Feinstein's in New York shortly before losing Cyd, the folks there told me they were surprised to find her a very shy, self-effacing lady, very sweet and oh so dignified and classy, yet also warm and friendly. She was always so special in every way, and a unique talent.

  • If only more people were more like that!

  • Always a lovely lady. She was always perfectly dressed and made-up when she was out in public and had that beautiful thick hair up until the end.

  • my dad said she was one of his favs,

  • In Seven decades ,she had the greatest dancing legs I have ever seen. When she was young ,kids of today would say she is Hot.

  • She obviously had plastic surgeory as she aged but she was still magnificent. There was some footage of her a month or so prior to her death. She was quite frail by that time but still as always by husband Tony Martin's side. They were amazing married 60 years and still in love with each other and devoted to each other's needs.

  • Makes Joan Rivers look practically unlifted!

  • Miss Spears... meet Miss Charisse. Please take note....

  • @BlackCountryLad NICE!!!!!!! YOU RULE!!!!!!!

  • Cyd in Brigadoon takes my breath away!

  • She was a gracious dear lady, a beautiful dancer. God bless her and her soul be at eternal rest and peace.

  • She was elegant and beautiful up until the end. Stars today could learn from this wondeful lady.

  • She was a beauty up until the end! A gracious elegant lady that will be missed.

  • Like the old saying gose...You never know how much you miss someone or something till its gone, I always liked Cyd but I never knew how much I liked her till she died...maybe its better that way. May she rest in peace.

  • What a sweet woman. I hope she passed quickly. God bless her soul.
