  • 44 people made a snowball xD

  • @MrsCats101

    ;-D

  • Very easy but still looks cool! :P

  • @MegaMacGamer

You just made me happy twice: for both that "easy" and that "cool"!

    Thank you so much!

    :-D

  • What do you do in the minute 1:54?

  • @Cefezamb

Oh, don't worry, the mystery is easily explained.

The point is that when I began making these tutorials I wasn't really self-confident in making the steps in front of the camera: that's why I used to do each step off-camera, undo them (that's why, for example, you suddenly see those creases at 1:54), and then re-do them on-camera by following the newly appeared guidlines...

    Hope this clarifies everything!

    ^_^

  • I couldn't hear you at all... is that because my speakers aren't working, or is it because there's no sound in your video.?

  • @AllyMind5Star

Your second guess is right, this video has no sound at all: at some point I did find a way to add some background sounds to my tutorials, but these early ones have remained like this...

    Happy origami time!

    ^_^

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! Some times diagrams are just to difficult to follow and this helped a lot! Now I can make a flower!

  • @moabkelley

    :-D

Yes, sometimes diagrams really can be not so easy to follow... I'm really, really glad I've been able to help you with my tutorials... and I'm grateful to you, for putting a big smile on my face with your very kind words!

    Have a great origami time!

    :-)

  • quite long explanation ...

  • @Ewyen

Origami can seem quite confusing, at times, especially on harder steps... and according to one's experience with it.

These tutorials have always been conceived, since the beginning, to be followed by everybody... beginners included!

    That's why they're long.

Despite the length, I hope you enjoyed the tutorial.

    ^_^

  • @danbergam yes i enjoyed the tutorial pretty well and ....... i have frog now :D

  • @Ewyen

Oh, well, I'm glad about that!

That sensation, having the finished origami in your hands and thinking - I made it by myself! - is very satisfying!

    :-D

    Thank you so much!

    ^_^

  • Heyy I am doneeeee with ittt

but it is not looking neat bcoz i joined white and red paper so it become thickkk:(

i have tried heart wid wings too

but i wanna ask u,,,how can i use these cards??? i mean if i want to give it to some1 how to give him?? to attach it on paper or what?? please reply

  • @Cantank3r0us

So, you maybe should use the trick I wrote: draw a square in Word, print it and then cut it out: it will have a colored side and a white one and it won't be too thick.

How to use them? In whatever way your imagination can think to!

In my opinion, the hearts I show in my tuts don't really need to be attached to a piece of paper, because a message can be put in them... but if your message is long and takes a sheet of paper, attaching the heart to it is the right solution! :-)

  • @danbergam

    I dont have a printer...:(

but i will try to find it in shopp...may be i will get from there ready made

  • @Cantank3r0us

I wish you good luck... may the shop have this paper! :-)

  • thx, but u could've shown the rest of the steps and made the video have audio, be a bit faster, and/or merge, repeat steps 1,2,3, and repeat steps4 and 5, stuff like that to, repeat steps 1-5, so i'm neutral, not disliking the vid, but not liking it either, thx nyway :D

  • are you japanese?

  • @Sheasha100

I apologize with you for having not replied before, but I think I didn't receive a notification for it because it was marked as spam... :-\

But, here I am, finally replying to your question: no, I'm not japanese... I'm italian! :-)

    Thank you for asking!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam np :P

  • @Sheasha100

    ;-P

  • @danbergam I for one salute you sir! I have been trying the frog for quite sometime and always gave up. This time I was able to complete. I appreciate some of the others comments, perhaps if you are advanced in Origami this is to slow for you..... but than if you are so advanced why are you bothering to watch this video anyway? The speed was great for me. Between the speed and the pause button I got it done! Thank You!~

  • @4Etznab

    That's right... and so rewarding!

I think that slow tutorials may better help, especially for who isn't so used to origami!

And... slowly folding may give better creases, I think!

Thank you so much for your passionate support!

    :-D

  • yeah, I thought about this...thx! Oh, and could you give me your messenger ID please? And how old are you?

  • @maryusaryus2010

Thank you so much, for your kind request.

Maybe one day, if we'll get to better know each other... you know, I'm a bit shy: I hope you'll understand...

Anyway, I'm 38 years old! And you, if I may ask?

    ^_^

  • @danbergam I have an advice for u!u should put some music in your videos 'coz...I am sorry to say this and hopefully you wont hate me....I get bored while doing this origami.Sorry

  • @maryusaryus2010

Don't worry, I don't hate people for an advice! ^_^

It's your opinion and I respect it: plus, you did it politely and I respect you even more.

I find music distracts from origami: it's a matter of tastes, of course.

Anyway, in my most recent tutorials (I cordially invite you to try them) I always add some natural background (eg. a river, a wood and such), the music I mostly love! :-D

Anyway... why not listening to your fav music, while watching my tuts and folding? ;-)

  • Thanks it helped alot. I wad trying to make a spider but didn't know the frog base. I thought I would be stuck at some point but u made it all clear!!!!

  • @angaaa1506

    You're so welcome!

My main effort with these tutorials has always been to make them as clear as possible: that's why I really want to thank you in return, because your words are the best reward!

    :-DD

A spider? Spiders have 8 legs... I wonder if there's a way to modify the frog base, or to do something similar, with 8 legs...

    *mumbles about it*

  • Hello, everybody!

I would be happy to know your opinion about this video... don't be shy!

    ^_^

  • I have definite solution for Step 7 those who didnt understand it. First get a ruler and a pencil. Put one side of the ruler to center and other side to the end of line you just folded then draw a line with pencil repeat same for the other side. After this just fold along these lines and you got yourself lines identical to the video.

Thank you danbergam for this nice tutorials.

  • @danis107

Thanks to you, for so kindly taking your time to figure out this solution and sharing it with all of us!

    ^_^

  • lmae!!!!!!

  • : ) Ima make iris naw

  • @PanisPower

    Happy folding time, then!

    ^_^

  • : )

  • wait. what do i do after you show the legs?

  • @543821

Look at the "response videos" right below the main video player and you'll see both the jumping frog and the iris flower that can be made from the frog base!

  • that sucks man

    i cant see prploy

  • @silverblader8

Steps are intentionally numbered for something: if you tell me on what step you're experiencing some difficulties I may try to write down an explanation.

  • thanks im stuck at the legs

  • @silverblader8

Step #5, which is specular of step #4, is done by folding that part on the right so that the white slanting side, partially overlapping the big red square side, ends overlapping the vertical diagonal of the big red square itself.

Step #7: raise that middle point of the horizontal line between red and white part, and overlap the two very opposite white sides so that they both lie on the vertical line in the middle of the figure.

  • wow i really suck at this mines terrible

  • @BearyChow

    Don't worry!

I'm more than sure that at the next try it will come out better!

Don't rush, do any step as much precisely as you can, and you'll get better and better time after time!

    ^_^

  • @BrownieKinz00

I'll definitely make more of them, don't worry!

    :-D

  • @BrownieKinz00

It's really kind and noble, from you, to apologize in their place... really, your attitude makes honour to yourself!

    *bows in sign of respect*

*You*, as the real owner of that account do *not* need to be forgiven: about your cousins... of course I forgive them! ^_^

Anyway, don't worry for me, things like that often happen to me!

Passwords are quite powerful items: better to keep them secret... and hard to guess!

    ;-)

    Thank you so much!

    ^_^

  • y no sound

  • @bubblesncheesecake25

    For multiple reasons.

One of them is that English is not my first language, and origami has a quite specific terminology.

Also, honestly, I don't really like tutorials with too much talking: I rather prefer that who's watching may concentrate on what must be done.

In my latest ones I've begun to use soundscapes, to fill the silence a bit, and I think it's quite satisfying solution.

  • @BrownieKinz00

It's your opinion and I respect it: but if you want your critics to be effective, you should always explain them, otherwise there's not enough information to make them useful in any way.

  • How do you make the creases at 1:58?!

  • @TheWarriorsluver

This is one of my first tutorials: I was not so sure of my origami skills, hence I used to make the steps by myself, undo them and then redo them in front of the camera.

That's why you see those lines: because I already did a step before showing it in front of the camera... nothing more than this.

  • Hey, You should put some music in ur videos. but still awsome.

  • @IlikePiE28228

At some point I've begun putting natural sounds in my tuts.

But I don't feel like putting music on'em, 'coz to me origami requires concentration and 'coz music tastes may greatly change... I suspect that, because of my particular tastes, I would have hundreds people complaining about this or that choice!

    :-\

My advice is always the same: you have a Pc, an Hi-Fi system and a bunch of mp3s/CDs... play the music of your own choice!

    Thank you for your appreciation!

  • Thank you very very much!

  • @Bellflower23

    Thanks to you in return!

    :-D

  • Thank you for your videos. They are very easy to follow. I have made the jump frog.

I enjoy with all your instructional vids. Thank you very much for taking your time in producing those instructional vidsand posting them. With your free lesson we are able to learn many new origami projects.

I really appreciate your wonderful work.

  • @Faith16100

    :-DDD

Many, many thanks *to you*, for taking, in return, your time to write such beautiful, such amazing, such rewarding words about me and my tutorials: what you express towards me is the best possible reward!!!

    :-)))

Once again, *thank you so much*!!!

  • Thanks, danbergam, for your lessons! I´m brazilian and maybe this turns more difficult to understand how a person like irinadochia12 can be so agressive!!! She seems the internet trolls, who never give a personal contribution in any aspects, but put themselves as the criticians of the other´s works... congratulations, danbergam

  • @leandrovala

I am muito, muito obrigado to you for your very kind defense and for your very, very kind words about my tutorials!

    :-DDD

  • i think wat u are doin is great although and like how u do it it in steps and not all at onebut i am new to this and find it a very frustrating around 2:02 to 2:40(step 7 and step 8)because its not very clear to me at all??

  • @TheCoyle1234

I divided figures in modules (base X, base Y, figure module) 'coz:

    1) each video had to be < 10 minutes

    2) I wanted it slow enough for newbies

    3) to show the base X many times made no sense

And I used the steps for easier reference!

Step #7: raise that middle point of the horizontal line between red and white part, and overlap the two very opposite white sides so that they both lie on the vertical line in the middle of the figure.

  • can you pls stop making all misled vids??? in one of your vids says how to make a jumping frog and i want to se a fkn jumping frog!! you're fuckn slow and moving like you damn retard! can't you make in a Whole video THE WHOLE FREAKIN' FROG?!!at 3:29 why ft you jumped all the part? how should somebody understand a dick of how you made that lines and stuff( besides to show me all the lines you made .which i'm not blind to not see them. it took a hell... learn things before uploading things, only

  • @irinadochia12

These words from you were rude and unfair.

As Lesson #6 shows, this frog jumps: how far, it depends on many factors.

I'm slow so that even beginners may follow it: if I did all in one video, I'd have to rush and it'd be too hard for many!

Origami's about folds quality and serenely enjoying it, not speed!

At 3:29 it was me folding+unfolding off the camera (for to have guidelines), then doing it again.

Please, learn some manners before vulgarly talking to people you don't know!

  • @danbergam besides the angre there was an advice too : not making misled videos..i don't mean that you have to rush , but you show me all the little and stupid lines and it takes a fkn hell..think about that, cuz i saw many origami videos on how to do this and that and it was quick and easy to follow...why is it so hard and slow in your videos???? try to make something quick-easy ...

  • @irinadochia12

I'll explain it again: I do *not* want to go faster, I do *not* want to stop showing the steps before making them: these tricks are a great help for the origami beginners, especially the younger ones.

Also, people appreciating my method are more than people complaining: it means something!

Is it me too slow or is it you with not enough patience? Before unleashing your fury, have you asked yourself that?

I don't understand how can one be so in anger about... a piece of paper?!

  • @danbergam mmyeah right..how can you be sooo idiot by not knowing that i DIDN'T get angry on a piece of paper, but i DID get angry on an idiot....so please....your attempts to tell me something is useless...unless you say something smart and not noob...

  • @irinadochia12

No, how can *you* be so rude and unmannered?!

And... this is a video of mine and I comment/reply on it whenever I want.

  • yah it does get a bit boring plus the whole trace back thing but any way good job and dont lecture me on the link crap i can read thank u and im not as dumb as the others on this site

  • @yumikokurosaki

On a certain degree, I guess the whole origami might be considered "boring": there are those step to do, one by one, no one excluded... and it's about folding paper, which isn't really exciting by itself... though, doing all of this with the goal in mind, having the final figure in one's hands can be exciting! ^_^

About "lecturing" you... I don't see nor know why I should do that: in facts, you're not complaining about any missing lesson!

    ^_^

    Thank you!

  • it's a good video but is it ok if you add a little bit of music?

  • @mbbsl0218

You're watching YT with your pc (or mac or such): and your machine has, I guess, a CD-DVD player and/or mp3s stored on its hard-disk.

If I did add a music to it you wouldn't necessarily like it and you would maybe end muting it.

If you, using the multimedial capacities of your computer, listen to the music you better like - and everyone does the same -, you're happy and satisfied.- and everyone is -.

In my latest tuts I'm adding some soundscapes, though: imho, music is distracting.

  • u should show how to start... but it's cool anyway, thanks friend!!

  • @nandastrike

    I show where to start...

In facts, where I begin with that figure there's a subtitle:

    Preliminary base

    (See lesson #1)

In the description of this vid, it's repeated how lesson #1 is pre-required and there's a link to it.

Thank you, anyway, for the kindness with which you've expressed your opinion: you've been kind and polite, unlike many others before!

    :-)

  • men fuck this shit u dont even show how to fucking start with a simple pice of paper u dumbass ,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @handalboy

Where I begin with that figure there's a subtitle:

    Preliminary base

    (See lesson #1)

In the description of this vid, it's repeated how lesson #1 is pre-required and there's the link to it!

It's not my fault, if you don't read!

You should think twice before going around offending people for your faults... the price you pay is that you make a fool of yourself and that's not so great.

I will *NOT* call you "dumbass", though, 'coz I'm not rude.

    Have a good day.

  • nice :) thankz :D

  • @elglue

Thanks *to you* for stopping by, appreciating, and so nicely commenting!

    :-D

  • your vids are good just i cant follow em. you work to fast and dont talk..unless my speakers just arent working idk

  • @MrJeffDoom

Don't worry for your speakers, in no one of my tuts (so far) I speak, because english isn't my first language.

If you are new to origami, consider you may need a few tries for to get used to the whole thing... don't give up!

An advice: watch, *understand*, try *a step at a time*!

About the speed: sorry, when I made this I had 10 minutes limit, I couldn't go much slower than this!

  • where did step six go? wtf?

  • @BananaManers69

    At 1:49 :

    "Step #6"

  • ivee watched allll of these annnnd youuuur helllllaaaaaaa gooood :]

  • @Millytaylor123

    :-D

You're so kind, thank you very much for your enthusiasm!

    ^_^

  • I cordially invite you to rate it, add it to your favourites and comment it!

  • you do not show half of steps. Do not liked at all!

  • @kniugzdas

I'm sorry, but that's not true.

The signs you see "appearing" at some point are just the result of doing a step off-camera and then undoing it: if you try to do one of those steps and then undo it, you'll see exactly those creases.

I uses to do it because I still was a beginner with origami.

  • @kniugzdas Do not liked doesnt make sense, dude. This tutorial is great, despite being tricky once.

  • ya lost me at step 8 XD

  • @darkxcircus

    Step #8... or maybe #7?

    ;D

If that's the case, in order to do step #7 you've to raise that middle point of the horizontal line between red and white part, and to overlap the two very opposite white sides so that they both lie on the vertical line in the middle of the figure.

    ^_^

  • ok thank you =D

  • @ChorlzoMan

    You are very welcome!

    :-D

  • en el paso 6 no entiendo, cuando ya se doblaron las 2 orillas, de la nada creo, aparece una linea en el centro que es la que señala en el 2:02, no se si es que me salte un paso

  • @ChorlzoMan

    [Automatic translation from English]

    :-)

  • @danbergam Thank you =D

  • Haha, the finished version reminds me of saurons helmet!

  • @darthguy3

    xD

Ah, that was funny, indeed: I never noticed that similarity, before... but it's there, at a certain point, if we manage the various parts in a proper way!

    xD

I should think about changing the title of this video...

    ;-)

Thank you for the smile you've been able to put on my face!

    ^_^

  • T_T... i need sound! lol, i cant make the step#6 -.-"

  • @Thescvr

Step #6 simply consists in undoing both step #4 and step #5.

Maybe you meant to write "step #7"...

If that's the case, in order to do step #7 you've to raise that middle point of the horizontal line between red and white part, and to overlap the two very opposite white sides so that they both lie on the vertical line in the middle of the figure.

    Hope this helps!

  • Im Sooo Confuseddd. LoL.

  • @xX23UNiQUEBBy23Xx

Don't worry, origami often has this kind of effects... if I may ask, what's the step which results confusing?

    ^_^

  • @danbergam i got confused after step 8. but after a while i kept rewinding it and i totally understood it, lol.

  • sucks

  • @yagual123

It's your opinion and I respect it; but if you want to make your criticism effective, you should motivate it a little more.

  • @danbergam no i shouldn't bitch

  • You got the secret, man, you just got it: and let me tell, this just is a big thing!

Naaah, I just know a very little about origami... "there's always something new I can learn" is one of my favourites adages *ever*!

Thank you so much for your kindness; you've been able to put a smile on my face and this just is *priceless*!

    :-D

  • I gave up at the first 'repeat step #7' help! :'(

  • Please, don't despair: most of the times, it only takes to relax and to try again a few more times!

To do or repeat step #7 you've to raise that middle point of the line between red and white part, and to overlap the two very opposite white sides.

    Hope this helps!

  • thank you very much your videos are so great and helpful

    mothers day will be saved

  • Many thanks to you, for your kind words!

But, let me tell you that *you* saved your Mother's day, by wanting and chosing to make a gift for your mom... and, actually, by making it!

    ^_^

  • You don't show how the creases in the upper flap suddenly appear in 1:57, or throughout the latter stages during this video. Please include that as I'm not sure where these creases suddenly appear from. Thanks

  • If you had searched in the other comments, you would have found: in the beginning, I used to make each fold off the camera, to unfold it, and then re-fold it on the camera in order to use the pre-creases.

    No mystery, at all.

  • Yeah, I knew that without having to read the comments, but I just meant that it would have been nice to do those creases on video. That's all.

  • At this point, this video has been there for so long that I don't even think to substitute it... hopely, people will go on trying to figure it out

  • Well, I wasn't trying to say it's hopeless you know. I do use it, and it works, I just thought you would appreciate constructive criticism. I'm not saying it should go off. And I do appreciate it aswell.

  • I mostly did that only in the beginning: my latest origami videos have me folding right in that moment, without pre-creasing. IMHO, the problem is over.

I'm having horrible days: to be honest, having endless, (sorry!) sterile discussions about creases/glue on a piece of paper in a video isn't my priority.

How can a human being live refusing to receive and give love? How can we break those walls?

This is the subject I'm struggling about by now... origami won't solve the question, I guess...

  • s

    su

    sucks

  • Critics are effective when they are supported by some kind of motivation.

At least you've tried to be creative...

  • lol!

  • @crankyalanaz im guessing you can do better?

  • @amandatrules: never an username was more appropriated... you just *rule*!

    Thank you so much!

    :'-D

  • You dont understand, he did step 7 first thats how the crease lines appear and then he unfolded it and showed you from step 6

  • Exactly!

Thank you so much for your support!

    :-)

  • that horizontal line you point to at 2:01 just magically appears... you missed that step! apart from that everything else is clear :D

  • 1) Magic has nothing to do with origami.

    2) I didn't miss to show anything.

At the beginning, when I was not so comfortable with origami, I use to do and undo each step off the camera in order to have guidlines and do them better in front of the camera.

Do that step, undo it... and you'll see exactly those lines.

    Thank you! :-D

  • do what step and undo what?!... tell me the exact minute on the video when you do that horizontal line because i must be missing it.

  • i dont mean to sound angry by the way.. sorry if i do! i just really want to make this flower, thanks! =D

  • at 1.58 you skip sth and i don't know how to do this

  • In the beginning, I used to pre-do a step then to undo it, in order to make it better in front of the camera.

If you do and then undo that step you'll find the same creases.

  • Comment removed

  • I had been trying so hard to figure this base out from a book and I couldn't get step #7 to save my life but this made it way easier thank you :D

  • I'm glad that this video of mine have helped, somehow!

Thank you for letting me know!

    ^_^

  • dang your good!

  • You're welcome!

  • u can add music man from the winamp. :) It's the best decision.

  • Oh, you are right... but I guess that I can tell in advance that in a way like that a lot of people would write complains like - hey, I don't like the music you've put with this video! -

Honestly, to me best choice is to put some natural sounds or, better, no music at all: after all, anyone has a music/CD player in its computer! ^_^

Thank you for your opinion, anyway!

  • this is an awesome video, but you have to add music or something to it

  • There's a risk involved in adding some music of my choice: it may happen that not everybody like it, or not appropriate for concentrating on the origami making.

I think it's better if each one listens to its own favourite music.

  • i thought this would be ok in silver foil origami paper but its harder

  • I'm sure it's harder.

But I'm even more sure that in silver foil origami paper it would be not only ok, but amazingly cool!

I think you can do it, if you don't rush, if you take all the time needed.

    :-)

  • Thanks to you, I'm glad to have helped!

    ^_^

  • cool 8D thanks! very helpful.

  • TTTTYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    XD

  • You're welcome!

    ^_^

  • I Like Pickles

  • there was some woman selling these for a quid but i get it 4 free!!

  • I see.

  • and this works 4 the iris as well?

  • Yes, frrom this one you get the iris as well!

  • What do you do on 1:56 I dont get it why there is a horizontal fold ^^"

  • Please, read the other comments about it, you will find that I've replied to this question many, many... *many* times already.

  • Dont understand at 2:00

  • From step 6, to do nr. 7 you've to raise that middle point of the line between red and white part, and to overlap the two very opposite white sides.

Those pre-creases you see are just the result of doing and undoing that step off the camera...

  • I for some reason find this bit REALLY difficult even though it looks so easy!! Grrrrrr........getting there though! :D

  • Exactly, don't give up and try and try again: you'll succeed!

    :-D

  • I did manage in the end! Admittedly I was there at like 3 in the morning swearing at my own inadequacy...but I made it :D

  • "3 in the morning"?

Wow, I'd say that you really got what we can call a *passion* for origami... and it goes like this, when something about a true passion isn't right, one is there, trying and trying again, no matter what time in the day it is...

Well, I'm glad for you that you finally succeeded at it, I can guess your satisfaction! ^_^

Congratulations... but, please, don't forget that to sleep at night is fundamental for our whole being!

    :-)

  • haha well I was just mad that I couldn't do it!! I can't stop making them now, everyone in my family has been given a flower (though most of them don't want one!) and actually, off to bed now! :D

  • Origami usually has this effect: once you begin... you can't stop makin g them!

May the fun never stop... and may you never get out of paper! ;-)

Now, I can't understand how most of them don't these paper flowers: after all, they're quite beautiful... spectacular, I'd say!

But, most of all, they're handmade by you, and to give them to your beloved ones is a sign of kindness love!

Oh, well, I hope they'll understand it and accept them! ^_^

Have a good (belated) sleep! :-D

  • i loved it so much ;) but...audio would be nice ...O.o...it would help a whole bunch -.-

  • Thank you!

About the audio... I'm not good in explaining in english while folding, sorry...

  • Wow. Mine doesn't look nearly as perfect as yours haha. But I did it after a lot of trial and error (:

Thank you very much! hopefully as i do it more it will look much better and not so offcenter haha.

  • Oh, I can grant you that mine is not perfect at all: I often tend to rush, sometimes, because I can't wait to see a model finished... and this negatively influences the result, because an imprecision in a step tends to get ampllified in the following steps!

Thanks to you, for such a rewarding comment... may the fun never end!

    ^_^

  • OMG

    I made it xDDDD

  • Great!

    xD

  • Ah thank you so much for this... I was trying to do these directions in a book but got confused on what sides to do the squash folds on. -0- But this clears things up very much!

And thanks for taking it slowly, that way you don't have to pause the video inbetween steps

  • Thanks to you for noticing and appreciating that aspect, on which I've intentionally put so much attention: it's just rewarding!

    :-)

  • I don't understand, it don't looks like a frog?

  • This is the frog *base*, that what's needed before making the actual frog: check the description for the links to the previous parts!

  • Thanks, with this I made my first origami edelweiss. ;)

  • Thanks to you, for letting me know... something that I didn't know!

    Origami edelweiss? Sounds interesting!

    :-)
