@bobbybooger Actually, this is the way the China was originally played. Hanging it the other way around started in the '80s when some popular drummers thought it looked cooler that way, and the trend has mostly stuck. Both ways sound the same, and both are appropriate. I have it this way because I find it gives me better access to all parts of it. Thanks for watching! :)
As a work of sculpture, my only critique would be that the support frame clashes visually. With a little redesign, this would have an even more stunning stage presence.
As for the frame, for this design it was as minimal as I could make it at the time; If I had access to a metal shop, I could have made it a bit smaller, but you gotta roll with what you've got :P Thanks for watching! :)
@Hikikomori013 Good idea. At the time I was going for more of a "just rolled out of a hardware store" look, but I might make some alterations in future ;) Thanks!
@h82goslo Haha! I would totally move the tubulum into a new garage if that happened. XD Or maybe even out of the garage entirely, who knows... Wouldn't want to get ahead of myself :)
@h82goslo Close! Other side of the garage, drums that are just hard to record, so don't make it into many videos, and yeah, the headphones are pretty nice :]
New camera and software too, but I guess those are behind-the-scene changes... :)
Interesting, and a nice mix I didn't believe that it was recorded by a camera mic...are the different tubes actually pitched or are you just playing by ear?
Kind of both. The tubes are tuned to specific notes (I actually had to lengthen one to play this song) but I learned this and the majority of the other things I know how to play by ear.
Haha very nice ;-) I just had this stuck in my head and then saw this pop up in my subscriptions. Great job dude! I loved the jump part at the start of the first chorus

@thejerrymobile I know what you mean about a metal shop. My projects would come out a lot better with some more tools.
I was thinking of maybe beveling the edges and painting the frame. I might go with gloss black.
Your videos are a lot of fun.
