My hair is up in rag curls at the moment.. hoping it will dry in time for church in the morning. Anyways, my hair is a little longer than bsl so we'll see how this turns out and just how much length it eats up.
@frodobaggins115 looks like I need to try less sections. I did 4 on each side but with my fine hair it just didn't turn out curly. More like wavey but not even what I could achieve with 2 french braids.
@frodobaggins115 Rag curlers never work on mine either. The soft curlers have always been what works best for me. :o( I'm sad you didn't end up with awesome curls for church.
@torrinpaige I'll have to try soft curlers next time. On the plus side, I did heidi braids for the first time and wore them to church. Got plenty of compliments on those. ^.^
@Arallist When my hair was APL I set it in soft rollers a lot. I could never get it to lie right and I found that all the soft curls just looked nicer than whatever else I was trying to do with it. I recommend setting it when you've nowhere to go, so you can see how your hair takes to it...and then experimenting with how you roll it to find out what you like best. Besides, if you just do a little peacock twist with it, it'll be super cute with all the curls.
I never tried doing my own hair before, I always went to expensive salons. But you know what? Either curly or just a regular up or so style at the salon, my hair never stays for more than 2 hours even if my stylist used enough hairspray.. My hair is so fine.. that even sometimes hair toys don't stay tight for long..
I will give this a dry and I hope it works since it is overnight thingy..
Thanks a bunch for your videos...they're awesome... and you're so lovely.

my hair is really really long! and you have given me so many ideas for my own hair!! i get so tired of all in a bun ,1/2 up, all down. lol thanks so much!!
Torrin, this is gorgeous :D And I'm so amazed and how much hair you manage to roll onto one curler :D I have short hair but I love watching your vids cuase they are just so friendly and I just love admiring your hair.
I'm trying a variation on this... my impression of rag curls, and with a bonnet dryer to make sure it gets all dried. I always love your videos, Torrin-- thank you! Wish me luck! ~~ nowxisxforever/LHC
Wow, your hair is getting longer! :-) It looks very pretty. I have sponge rollers and used to use them a lot but I haven't in a year or so. Have you tried both? Have you noticed much breakage by sleeping with the rollers? I think that has been my only concern with not using them for a while. I also had to use hairspray, and since my hair is stick straight, it would only work on my dry hair. I didn't use a mousse though, maybe that would help if I found the right kind.
Wow, this is beautiful, I know I can probably do this with rags, but I would like to get those soft rollers, I guess I´ll stop by walmart on my next trip to the US!
It came out great! But you know, you should be happy for your straight hair... it offers a lot of variety! Thank's for sharing the video... my hair is naturally that way (kinda) but my sister may want to try it, as her hair is pin straight... =) Thank's!
I have realllly tight curls, do you think this method would loosen them and give me this look?? Also, do you have any tips for growing out hair? Yours is so lovely! =]
I looked up Debra Jo Fondren, and her hair was just like yours. So gorgeous! Sad to see she chopped it off when she got older. Let's promise we'll never do that! I loved this tutorial, and plan to do it next time I shampoo!
I got them at Wal-Mart or Sally's. I can't remember which, but most drug stores have them as well. They don't really work with dry hair. Hot rollers are made for dry, soft rollers are made for damp. :o)
I like it. I have long hair but can't stand to have it down - it gets in my way all the time. I wonder if anyone else with long hair feels the same way. I see women with their hair down and wonder how they can stand it. Thanks for the paper tip, I've never thought of that.
They relax as the day goes on, of course, but I'll still have curly ends for at least two days, providing I don't rip a brush through it, of course. :o)
I can say the same! I've always wanted luxurious dark brown (shiny!!!) hair! I'm too pale to carry it off. I end up looking like a very sad excuse for a goth girl. Good goth is awesome...me as a brunette? Not so awesome. ;oP
So beautiful!

Haha, My friend's mother (of asian decent) has slick pin straight hair.
She went and got a perm that took 7 hours.
Went home, let the chemicals set for two days as ordered, washed, and BAM
Straight hair again. O_O
But anyway, I went to my local RiteAid and I saw a pack of soft rollers. I immediately thought of you haha!
Do you think I'll still get nice results if my hair is only slightly past APL?
:/ Hmmm I wanna know before I by the set haha

Maybe in a few months (or centuries, at the rate my hair grows..!!) I will be able to try one of your hairstyles, successfully. :)

That's great! Wow!
I have long hair (not as long as yours, of course - yours are, like, Guinness World Records stuff), very thick, and fatally straight.
Usually curls on me holds for a few hours, and then fall down.
But your hair looks sooo heavy! If those curls last on your hair, they will last on everyone's hair, even mine! :)
