I loved Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton as the original, V and C, of BATB. They will always be the hallmarks for these characters. However, good writing is good writing and that is the other part of the show. I'm wondering if, they would be willing to bring us a new BATB with equally talented actors to play V and C, and this time, Catherine doesn't die, and she's there to help raise their son. Maybe Diana could be worked in as sort of distant cousin to Catherine?
User Cinemaofthemind, I got a question did the WXYZ EBS test follow this when the clip ended? I knew when WXYZ's came on at that time. Catch the WPTF in Raleigh's test that came on minutes later on YouTube to act as WXYZ's.
I agree with Vicky. The magic of the show was not just Vincent, though without Ron Perlman as Vincent there couldn't have been a show. Ron and Linda Hamilton created the on screen magic between Vincent and Catherine. Their chemistry and incredible talent is what made the rest of the show work so well. With other actors playing them, no matter how good the supporting cast were, the show would probably not had worked. I don't think any other actors could play Vincent and Catherine.
Just because they become intimate doesn't mean they would lose the lose the love and romance, and they could still have tension. Since someone mentioned 20 something weeks of watching the show, I'm guessing not enough time had passed for the most to think that enough time had passed for V and C's relationship to move forward a little more towards love by them becoming a little more intimate with each other. I would have love to see more intimacy between them.
Funny, entertaining video. Seem the majority of the audience consisted of older house wives. It surprised me that the majority of the audience wanted Vincent and Catherine not to kiss ever. How can they not want V and C to have the fulfillment of their dream, which is to live together happily as a couple? How long can the series had go on with V and C never even kissing?
What! So you're actually someone from this video? Oh good!
And I believe that. It was not the best time of her life either, so I understand why she wouldn't. Don't mind me, it's just that I'm one of those who feel BATB was the perfect combination of all elements equally. :-)

@vickychandler87 I didn't make it to Detroit, I was glad Jeanne Cloud could though. The reason Kelly & Co had such a packed house of fans for this was the phone tree the "Helpers' Network" had gotten in place by then. (An early version of Facebook, LOL!)
I only wish they had gotten input from Linda too, not just Ron. I agree wholeheartedly with the lady who said it's not just Vincent: it's that fabulous, wonderful combination.

By the way, sorry for the multiple posts! Maybe you can delete the extra ones?

@vickychandler87 I tried, really I did. Her manager was a sweetheart, Linda herself has always been sweet to her fans. But unfortunately, she rarely felt up to doing PR for the show.

@nicka727 I received this tape directly from the producers at the time, not being a Detroit native, I'm afraid I can't help with your question.

This has been a Scripps Howard Production and WXYZ-TV copyright 1989.
