But he really can't understand what she is doing there, cause he let her know very well how much she broke his heart back then, and that it would stick with him for life (I was the one that let you know. I was your sorry ever after 74/75). Everything's already been said, and he's not sure how to handle this situation. He so wants her still, but can't find a way to forgive what happened.

One day, out of the blue, he found her standing there on his doorstep in the rain, wishing him back into her life. He feels heartbroken and don't want to bring all those miserable memories back that she brings with her presence. He says to himself in his head "she's got no reason to bring all this up again. Why! I moved on!". But in his heart he knows he missed her so much, and after all this time...he is so happy to see her, to look into her eyes.

To me it is about an old relationship (between 74-75) that didn't work out, but his love for this girl remained. It hurt for a long time. But eventually he got over the heartache and went on with his life, but she still would keep a place somewhere down there.

Great song very good performance, shame they kinda dissapeared after the success of this song... In all honesty, good record, by a Proper band, BUT very much a one-hit-wonder don't you guys think? But, honestly If i was part of the band and helped record this song, i wouldnt mind living off the back of it cos it was superb.
