  • I really don't know what the point of worship is. Has there ever been such a tragic unrequited love story like the one for a god?

    Actually it strikes me that in many cases it isn't love at all but simply a fear of eternal damnation from an an infinitely powerful entity, and even a bit of begging for those people to complete their wish list over someone else's.

    Don't get me wrong, I love The Shawshank Redemption, but there's nothing virtuous about faith in the impossible. That's just denial.
