the unit is actually an sp-303. he uses it for additional samples and occasionally as a delay effect. nothing to do with presets at all!

This requires a lot of skill to do, and a good portion of talent. The kids got it, no doubt, and he's great at what he does. Though, music extends beyond that; if he made his own patches, his own samples, I'd be in awe. But people these days are too easily impressed by speedy fingers on an mpc. If this lad joined a band, he could be a valuable member; but stand-alone, this is one of those things people only awe over for the "mad skillz" aquired through a lot of practice on the mpc.
