cos you cant film a band that close up & also capture a quality sound recording, its too loud & so gets distorted, so used a desk recording of the same song by the same band from the same tour.

Still confused. I have been playing for nearly 25 years and have made countless recordings of my gigs over the years. I now use two simple directional mic's and analogue tape. The band I'm in currently (Smoothpain - it's a crap name I know) are pretty loud. We play Anarchy ourselves, as well as a lot of rock and some grunge, recordings seem fine to me.

Perhaps you're doing something wrong?

But i think you are missing the point somewhat!, we are talking here about captured sound from a camera not sound recording gear!

Good for you & best of luck in a band with a name like that :-) but we didn't have " two simple directional mic's and analogue tape" - lucky you! - we had one camera -with a condenser mic built in, thats why it gets distorted up close, thats why we used a desk recording of the same song, by the same band, from the same tour, its not really that confusing, put the two together, Bobs yer uncle.!

This video however is definitely dubbed There are 2 give aways.

2:43 - where he removes the mic for the crowd to sing and the vocal audio remains.

2:59 - a sudden switch back to the original audio for the crowd response

No they're not the real Sex Pistols. It's a tribute band dedicated to them. And this was in 2009, Sid died in 1979.

They're still brilliant :) Got the looks and everything nearly spot on!
