  • Pilot: Tower, Storch 5 Sierra Tango 5 miles outbound for landing

Tower: Roger, Storch 5 Sierra Tango, Sieg Heil

Pilot: Why don't you 'Sieg Heil' me a vector for an approach, dumbass

The Germans knew how to build planes, too bad their political ideologies were misguided back then.

  • It was said that she could hovering with 36km/h head wind.

  • There's one just like this one in the movie Eagle has Landed with Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Donald Sutherland. It's a scene when Duvall arrives at the German occupied Channel Islands. Beautiful aircraft.

  • Unbelievable aircraft that is still a formidable performer today. Its STOL characteristics are just amazing. A strong and stable platform for aerial surveillance, photography, glider tow, etc. I'd love to have one.

  • Curiously was the favorite one of Marshal Erwin Rommel who loved to pilot it by himself, also the prefered personal scouting plane from his rival: marshal Montgomery. Must be a fantastic stol plane.

  • Úžasná mašina. Pamatuju si ji ještě když jsem byl děcko.

Sloužila u nás jako vlečná, poslední byla v Brně, tuším OK-AIW.

Splendid machine indeed. I remeber her from the time I was a kid. In Czech rep. it used to serve as a glider tug. The last in the city of Brno was OK-AIW if I am not mistaken.

There is one in Prague in museum and somewhere is another one. I hope ot will fly one day...
