Still a touching document of a story from those sad times, that has a "happy" ending and doesnot leave one with only sad feelings as so many stories from those days do.
This is realy touching, and impressive. THere is only one thing I don't understand. Her brother fled to Palestine in 1938, did he stay there? If not, why didnot they kept in contact? If I had only one brother left that survived, I would search the earth to find him. So that is what puzzles me a little.
This is a failing on our part. Lilli did keep in touch with her brother regularly by post, and they always made plans to visit with each other, but he died, tragically young, in the early 1960s.
