  • how i'd love to go to VFS

  • Cooler than ever.

  • hi what was this shot on?

  • watched this vid bout a thousand times, guess I'll watch another ;)

  • Just wanted to say, that this is really cool. Another thing is, I think this has been ripped off by a danish company called Oister. You can find it on youtube if you search for Oister. I hope you profited from it!

  • what kind of degree would i need to get to learn this kind of stuff and what program was used?

  • @mannygee93 This was made by a student in the Digital Design diploma program at VFS. We will need to look into which program was used and we will get back to you shortly. Thanks!

  • @VancouverFilmSchool I really want to get into 3D modeling, but I want to know more about what it takes to do well after college. Are the people at your school guaranteed a job as soon as they finish the course? I understand you need to apply for the job and send in the demo reel etc., but what percent of your graduates find a job? I understand art is a dangerous profession so please, I need a truthful answer. Thank you.

  • @nameno1elsehas Thanks for getting in touch! We’d be wary of any school that purports to “guarantee” a job – ask any industry professional and they’ll tell you the same thing. We can tell you that a lot of graduates from our Animation & Visual Effects programs go on to get contracts soon after leaving VFS. Take a look at the alumni credits on the right here: vfs(dot)com/2009, to see just some of our grads’ recent work. We feel these results say a lot about VFS!

  • @nameno1elsehas As far as your own success goes, if you are prepared to put in the time and effort, and have a real passion for your subject, we will help you with networking opportunities as well as creating an impressive portfolio/reel, so when you leave VFS you have the tools to begin your career. Basically, at VFS, it’s our mission to give you every opportunity to succeed and do what you love. It’s up to you take that opportunity and make the most of it!

  • @nameno1elsehas If you would like to discuss this further, or any other questions/ concerns you may have, please fill in the form at vfs(dot)com/speaktoanadvisor and one of our friendly Admissions Advisors will be in touch soon. Thanks!

  • this is sooo great !

  • That was AMAZING! I want to go to VFS when I'm out of high school!

    Good job!

  • @StandByMyLove Hope to see you here one day soon! Let us know if we can help with any information.

  • you guys are awesome!

  • Careful guys, you have a really great idea and it was all executed fairly well... but at the very end of the box animation clip 1:16-1:17 boxes are there than the boxes dissapear while in the shot its only half a second but it may take your audience out of the vid, it should be an easy fix that could make your clip that much better. great piece none the less.

  • This is amazing. How do you guys do that?

  • This is beautiful, very nicely executed and thoughtful. I love it, even though it's so short.

  • those pages on the floor and walls was used like markers

  • Now this is a nice concept! Sorry that you gone nuts at the end, I was expecting a silent ending with the boxes blending in something. But GOOD!

  • Absolutely LOVE the shaky camera in this! Effects were awesome man!

  • amazing ! good job!

  • it's sick! guys you're so cool! VFS is awesome school!

  • rock on!! :)

  • dope !!!

  • this is wicked awesome..!!

  • That was Brutal

  • It would be extrodinare if they could tell us what kind of camera they used for this. It would be my christmas gift for me.

  • @ihumpdump - I used a sony ex1. Colour correction was done in looks. Cameras don't make for good pictures always, it's your lighting set up and you make it work with your camera. Also colour grading helps a huge amount.

  • Thank you for your response. All the best in new decade.

  • Amizing :)

  • SRS ?

  • That was sooooo ballin'. Nicely done!

  • there is a mistake... look at, there are not boxes in this part of the video: 0.24, then the boxes appear : 0.31...hehe, well anyway, that`s a great minimal animation...

  • im so curios , wer is this school acy\tually , im so interested in this stuff..but im only 16

  • We are based in beautiful Vancouver, BC, on the west coast of Canada.

  • What kind of Careers do Students in the Visual Arts and Motion Graphics Field or Digital Design Get Into?

  • wtf? so far , damn..

  • thts awesomeeeee

  • haha sweet movie ;)

  • this is amazing =]]] fantastic job!

  • hohohoho!

    So Coool

  • that was awesome

  • was the song produced for this video or is it from an music artist? i would like to knwo. thank you

  • The music was created by musician Mike Edel.

  • @VancouverFilmSchool who is the "leader" of the youtube account? everybody got the key or there is one choosen man/woman?

  • The team here at VFS select student work to upload daily. Hope you are enjoying what you see!

  • what kind of camerA Did you use?

  • so cool!!! Music is alive like a creature!!!

  • This is the best vid EVER ^^

  • fuckin AWESOME!!!!! :DDD

  • Wow!! How COOL is this!! I LOVE it!

  • omg fantastic

  • utterly brilliant...

  • It was awesome! The only issue is that it seems like some of the boxes weren't masked properly when that box explosion occurred. Apart from that, it was awesome! The animation was great, the render fit the scene perfectly, and the matchmove was brilliant. Fantastic job.

  • Very, very well done.

  • Lens flare killed it.

  • Great job!

  • WHOOHOHOHOHOHOHOH

  • Wow I loved everything about this. The lighting the texture the color...everything. Especially how real the boxes looked

  • Fantastic! This is one of the best tracking scenes I've ever seen.

  • Good tracking

  • awesome .. that room was beautiful

  • great great!

  • reflections on floor = win

  • Very nice!

  • NIIIIICE WORK!

  • very well done!

  • Very goooooooooooooood!!

  • THAT WAS SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Some of the motions of the boxes were too skippy which made it less realistic. Also at the end where you pan away from them you can see them vanish in the last couple of frames after you stop seeing them. but other than that it was really good.

  • not that you can do any better, (nor do I claim to do any better than you anyway)

  • does anyone know the name of the song?

  • Amazing, but too much camera movement. Also, the editing to hide the appearance of the boxes was lame.

    Go VFS!

  • not..

  • one of the best

  • these guys are good

  • That's pretty cool! I wish they had shown a breakdown of the effects.

  • hhahha Its so cool!!

    ^^ Awesome! Good Job!

  • cool!

  • that is so cool!!!! :D

  • Woww :D

  • THATS SO COOL!

  • simply amazing

  • That was awesome! I love it all!

  • Nifty. Well done lads

  • Wow....

  • Fucking amazing!

  • I yelled out HOLY SHIT when I first saw the boxes

  • amazing! is is harder to animate with a dynamic camera?

  • Absolutely stunning especially with shakey camera~

  • this is going to be what im doing in a few years. awesome

  • I loved everything except the end, there was just something about the end that wasnt upto the same level as the rest of it.

    But still, stonkingly good!

  • @lugerman stonkingly?

  • Main Entry: stonking

    Part of Speech: adv

    Definition: extremely; also called stonkingly

    Etymology: from stonk 'bombardment'

    Usage: colloquial

    Main Entry: stonking

    Part of Speech: adj

    Definition: excellent, very impressive

    I think it's a very... british thing.

  • @lugerman Thank you, but there is no need to quote the dictionary at me.

  • wow. now that was impressive. nicely done. :D

  • That was cool and fun to watch.

  • simple

  • these are always amazing!

  • @swetrich haha swetrich watches vfs too?

  • yes! i would so go there if i had the money haha

  • Great Job on the tracking. Shakey cam is so annoying to work with when adding cg visual effects :) 5 Stars

  • but its the most appealing to the eye :D

  • Yeah, it's extra work but the end result is most rewarding. Too many movies have shaking cams through out and then use a tripod and keep things still when they add a cg element. Boo on them! District 9 is a good example of someone who said F being lazy, let's show em what we can do! ^_^

  • decent

    hahhahaha

  • i love jordan clarke's work

  • great vid but it looks like you never masked off the bar on the drums, its behined the boxs. nice work tho

  • Good one! Would like to see the breakdowns of the different layers.

  • great work

  • I allready saw this video somewhere else :S

    But still.. it's great

  • awesome

  • excellent work, this would make a great music video
