So thats were their 2nd channel, iTunes, website and merchandise comes into play. Oh, and then you have to divide by two since there is two of them.

2 major mistakes:

1: The Youtube Partner program does NOT give a user $1 per 1000 views, but it gives them 75 cents per ad click on the side of their videos

2: Smosh haven't been a Partner since 2005. The Partner Program didn't exist until 2007, at the earliest, further skewing the numbers.

In all actuality, they did an interview and said they make $250,000 a year.

why do you multiply by 1-3 dollars? Why not 50 cents? There is a chance that they make less than a dollar per thousand. My long term average is closer to 75 cents per thousand consistent through several channels.

Between several channels I have a few million views, but in general the ads youtube puts on my vids are not as "clickable"  There are a lot of youtubers out there who would kill to make over a dollar per thousand views so consider yourself a lucky one while it lasts.
