Rubber Soul was a very singular and unique stage in their musical development. Of course, you can also say that about Help! and Revolver, but something about Rubber Soul stands out as separate.

@itsbridgetlogann This song in particular blows me away; in fact I was thinking about it this morning. It's dynamics couldn't be captured given the technology back then, although Rubber Soul was a milestone in their mixing, more natural sounding than their previous albums. Revolver is a knockout, no doubt about it. Check out "5D" by the Byrds, also "Sunshine Superman" by Donovan. These three were the first psychedelic albums. Also look up Fever Tree and early San Francisco sound.
