Personally I think Gould is pretentious and not idiosyncratic... Perahia is the real God of the Goldbergs who plays with natural-sounding perfection. Nothing too outside the box, but probably how Bach intended the variations to be played, with absolute clarity and sheer pleasure.

I like Gould better, but Perahia is second for me, with quite a distance from Gould, but he is the Goldberg master of the universe, of course ;-)
It is lonely at the top.

Bach didn't give any indications for pedal, so it all just a matter of taste.
You like it, I don't, there is no right or wrong here..
