good for the kids but in judo you have to stay on ground keep your legs on the ground
throws are good and powerful but the judo is the gentle way to use the only grip of your opponents gi not the helpof strength .Judo is he best way to fight anyone biggerand stronger than you
The throws are good but the movements suck, they keep jumping around. In judo you have to keep your balance and feet on the ground. Movements in judo are suppose to be like sliding your feet kinda motion. But these kids look young, (probably 12 or 13)
@intactGB im not leaving it. my Sensei was twice world champ, and leaving that school because someone said so??? that style has parts from everything. judo, kickboxing, muay thai. to be correct those styles have parts from basic of the begining ones like karate and kong-fu
kung fu and karate are among the most useless martial arts. Not only are most of the techniques, especially the ones that are extremely flashy are a waste of time, but they are completely based of of a bad point system.
Funny how people still choose to live in the dark ages, and not trust what the genesis of mixed martial arts has proven to be true.
Very good demo by very young Judoka ? Looked a little tired by the end though and technique suffered a little getting your technique right while tired and under pressure in a comp can be the difference between winning and losing, so keep working hard and good luck !
Good throws, but i can see the uki is going down to easily with the throw,
try practising with a partner who resists a little, you'll soon figure out where your going wrong, and become pretty good
Your grips need work and the way your entering your throws will get you thrown flat on your back. Don't jump in to a throw, create space using your upper body (pulling them, pushing them) and then attack, you seem to be moving back into them when your doing a forward throw. Keep at it, it takes work!
@kingninjaturtle I agree, I myself am a mixed martial artist and have found many practical uses of Judo outside of the ring. As you said during demonstrations the movements must be exagerated for a more clean and stylish look. But still, You find yourself getting many throws from the manipulation of motion, much like Aikido. When in an actual fight it almost always turns to a game of push and shove and when you have a judo background it makes things much easier.
@WillardE4 judo is extremely more usefull the wrestling, you may not agree but i do both and it is extremely practical i can throw you and time and i garuntee you will not get up
that may be true if i only knew how to wrestle but i also know 5 other types of martial arts including judo. my comment was based on expeirience since i have done wrestling just as long as i have done judo. so to sum it up...u may have the capabilties to throw me but i would probably "round kick" u or "rear naked choke" u first.
im sorry but there is not a chance in the world that that would happen, i train at one of the best judoclubs in canada epecially when it comes to ground work, and i box and wrestle, id kick your ass nigger
hmm, highly doubt it. ur probably just some poser. and even if u do train at one of the best judoclubs in canada, it doesn't prove that u r exellent at judo. furthermore i would still have a wider range of martial arts knowlegde than u. and finally, this is just going to lead to a stupid and pointless arguement because there is no way any of us can prove our claim, and we'll never actualy fight. but i just think that 6 types of martial arts along with mma training will give me a large advantage.
it doesnt matter how many types of martial arts you know you still have to be goo at them and teakwondo and shit like that do not count neither does mma trainning in order to get good and a martial art you ahve to train in that specific art not all at once
yet mma fighter usually beat those who focus on one type of martial arts. i don't focus on mmma by the way, i just see it as a good way to tie all the different types of martial arts i know together in one uniform fighting style. thats why now i can make the transition from punching to kiicking to throw/takedowns to submissions with much more ease.
that is a little known fact, but as true as it gets, No-Gi Judo, along with Ninpo (True ninjitsu, not the fake in america), Muay Thai and Bjj are all arts I am certified to teach in and soon wrestling, but with wrestling takedowns are risky, gullitine, knees, sprawl, but judo it doesn't have that and you can slam a bigger guy as with wrestling you MAYBE can takedown a bigger guy, JUST MAYBE, but cannot slam them
@swampertkid What, swamperkid, is the little known fact, that you're "certified" to teach some stuff? If that were really true you wouldn't make this ignorant inane comment. Judo is a killer in the clinch in no gi wrestling. Because you don't understand it and can't apply it you can't appreciate it.
@WillardE4 Willard, judo is very practical. In fact, many of the techniques in judo are in freestyle and catch wrestling. Pay attention and you will see them.
@WillardE4 Most people don't know how to fall without hurting themselves, which makes it pretty practical. If you throw someone on concrete with any of these throws, generally it is going to result in inury, broken arms, broken necks, concussions. Judo throws taught in combination with strikes and submissions can be devastating on the street.
It sure is! may i ask what dojo you are from? currently i got 2 fushida tournaments and1 white fushida tournament. Hopeing for another white one hopefully soon :)
I'd say keep your knees next to eachother, as your feet ; and when throwing you'll turn your knees ( and your body) to the right /left ( depending on how you throw the guy..
i dont think those are the best judo trows

dont bend over before executing the throw.
remember make kuzushi first then the throw will come naturally. keep your bodu straight while doing this.
and get your hips forward in your ashi-barai.
point your knees inward on sei-oi-nage, not outward. this sounds crazy and feels unnatural, but give it a try it works.
keep practicing and you will be very good.
