@Chopinsnocturnes No belt so he can't use the belt to strangle someone if he decides to escape. As of June 29, 2011, Newland attempted an escape where he was shot and killed. He obviously had escape on his mind.

@ToferMc Well, it appears nothing happened to this "lady killer" while in the pen except to be helped by the Tacoma Mall shooter Dominick Maldonado in a break out. In the end, a prison guard shot and killed Kevin Newland for attempted escape. His friend (and mass shooter) who he obviously kept company with (you are like the folks you hang out with), Maldonado, took a corrections officer hostage.
