On my dad's side, yes. My great great grandfather (Anders Carlsen) was one of the original settlers in 1872. I grew up across the road from his original homestead farm. My great grandfather (Jens Frederick Johnsen, who came to New Denmark in the 1880's) married his daughter.
I just got another pic of your Dad so if I had yer email I'd send it to ya. I just sent Dad a link to this page...so he may have somthing to say here!
Ya my Grandpa was Donald...and my Dad has coffee with yours almost every morning...And I have been for coffee with the group before also...He sent me a picture today from the coffee shop, your Dad is sitting beside mine, but view blocked by my Dad. Your Dad's other half is also in the picture. And so is Santa!
So obviously you know Sterling and Glenna (she passed away a few years ago) Jensen. I spent lot's of time there too. Yes I picked potatoes to on the farm and played in potato barn beside Grampy's house. I was just there this past Aug...I have retired from the military and have till next Sep to decide on a free move anywhere in Canada. So obviously if I do move it wull be to NB...Gods country! I asked my Dad from Grampy's first name cause for me it was just Grampy...and I froget!
I'm a Jensen...my Dad is Fred Jensen...lives on top of Klokledahl Hill. Dad only moved back there about 14 years ago. So I haven't lived there...yet...I spennt most of my time between Bristol and Woodstock...I visit about once a year.
I'm a Johnsen. My Dad is Alan Johnsen. I grew up just up the hill from the museum. I'll be going home to visit this summer (can't wait). I have been living in Saskatchewan and Alberta for the past 20 years. What was your grandfather's name again? I can't remember it, but I sure know the farm on top of the Klokedahl. I even picked potatoes there as a kid, when Bob Jeppesen used to rent it.
I have all the pics in good quality...my Dad is in many of them. I originally to email the folks back in New Denmark as they have no high speed, I have since lost the template to redo in high quality...I may start from scratch as I'd like people to be able to see the faces...
I don't recognize any of the people due to the poor quality, but I sure recognize the camp right at the beginning! It is the camp my dad is one of the owners of on the gulquac! What a great surprise. Now I'm homesick.
