It really is just like the animation. A great way to travel to Europe. They have started to skimp a bit in premier class though by not serving champagne as you depart and also the trains are getting ready for an overhaul inside.
Wow! I can't wait till Eurostar gets its new trains from Siemens- hopefully, they'll be allowed to run through the Channel Tunnel (as well as Deutsche Bahn its trains).
Whoever designed the toilets needs shooting - Floors totally wet, a nasty smell, appallingly designed hand basins and surrounds always wet, and the ladies toilets always have a long queue outside.
Cool & well designed promo..love the theme music.....the cold weather in Dec/ Jan has caused some problem....that need to be worked out. Great way to travel when all systems are a go !
@sherwelthlangley Amtrak is a total disaster. It just goes to show what happens when the government decides to take total control of an industry and monopolize it. They ruin it and the airline lobbyists keep it that way. There are so many laws that make competition for Amtrak so difficult that it scares away private high speed rail companies such as Eurostar.

Good for Europe for having this technology that Japan has had in place FOR YEARS NOW. Now all we need is the USA to move forward with this.
Anyway, take the Eurostar, then take Japan's Shinkansen. No comparison. Eurostar inside is CRAMPED beyond belief, dirty, uncomfortable and just not like the shinkansen. Eurostar also costs the same as the shinkansen, so why do we get better service on the shinkansen?
a bit grandiose to proclaim themselves as "high speed europe" when the french and italians have had faster trains than this for at least a decade. I love the new Kings Cross terminal, but it's ironic that this advert doesn't take you inside the train, otherwise you would see how ordinary and cramped the economy class is. Virgin trains and First Great Western have more spacious and comfortable economy class, so eurostar needs an upgrade.
@numb15 Eurostar just broke their patnership with SNCF yesterday, making them a fully private operator. You would be happy to know that they have purchased ten brand new Velaro e350 trains as their first major private investment.
@xxxyorks Yeh it is lol, but for some reason the british see crossing the english channel to continental europe as "going to europe" dont ask me why, i guess its because we're a seperate island state
One of the most beautiful videos ive ever seen! Amazing computer graphics and some really good music. The CGI representation of St Pancras is pretty exact cos I went there last year! 5*
justin dont hate, the trains would last, we just dont have a Goverment or private sector able\capable to undergo such a Project. Building one would be a great way to Boost our economy, especially a system touching all the states.
@simongbb7 I agree. Europe's transportation infrastructure is WAY ahead of the US. Their airports, railways, and highways are all much more efficiant. Just yesterday Eurostar announced that it has severed its patnership with SNCF and is now a fully private high speed rail company. They have ordered ten Velaro e350's for expansive service into Germany and Southern France. High Speed Rail can thrive without public funds, despite popular belief. Eurostar, NTV, and SE Rail are all examples.
That can't happen because Eurotunnel (seperate company to Eurostar) charges a £20 toll every journey. (Roughly) On the basic £60 ticket, they lose 1/3 just through travelling through the tunnel. Taking it below £40 would be near to impossible no matter the distance.
In mainland Europe the speed of these trains is 300 km/h. The ridiculous '299 km/h' which
often crops up in publications is the result of a conversion from km/h to mph and then back. If one goes on converting and back converting the Eurostar eventually grinds to a halt.
what are you talking about, the third rail is for derailment purposes not for power supply. High speed trails get power from overhead electric supply.
finally britain has a high speed line! were way behind the rest of europe. when the new st pancras opens its only 2:15 hrs to paris. All looks brilliant.
I've been on the Eurostar loads of times - it's the only way to travel between London and Paris or Brussels and beats flying any day. I've heard it will be even quicker from St Pancras - roll on November 14th!
The music is written and composed for Eurostar - its not from anywhere else

Planes do just fine for the U.S., rail in this country is very much of a money drain except for freight, that is a fantastic value.

Don't be too optimistic - the auto industry will never hand over their cash cows to more convenient traveling.
As long as the American Dream of owning a car is in place, we'll never have bullet trains.
