My current count is 3809 45's from the '80s, with 1985 the most at 407 and 1989 the least at 223. But I also have 1004 different 45s from the '90s! There weren't many pic sleeves in the '90s (I have 3 Mariah Careys, a TLC, a Springsteen, and a Pearl Jam and a few more) I may soon do a '90s version of this to prove that 45s were still around in the '90s (and even early 2000s) to show that those may prove collectible as few 45's were pressed after 1989!
wow this really takes me back. I grew up in the 90's but my parents would play all these songs while I was growing up. thanks for putting them all in one video :)
thanks for showing this awesome and huge collection of great 45"s! and for going into so much detail. is that the same turntable you had back in the day? this really brings back the 80's memories!get yourself some of those nice plastic outer sleeves, your collection surely deserves it!
Oh and BTW, I use a STR8-100! I haze the straight tone arm! Its best for scratching but my stanton 681EEE needs an S-arm! ;( are you using a 680 cartridge? If Not you should be for just great Playback! :). Hint....
Dude, your a God Damn Genius!! What cartridge ate you using on your stanton table? The least I can do in appreciation for the Hours of memories and entertainment you have brought to me is get yah a 3 pack of styli! I'm serious!! Excellent work my friend!
Hey dude, thanks a million for posting! Great sounds, great memories! You are so lucky to have this great record collection. First single I ever bought: Adam and the Ants, Stand and Deliver! 11 or 12 years old Dublin, Ireland!
Seems like they forgot about us man. Like almost as if people were not growing up in the 80's. Strange you here about every decade having a meaningful contribution at some point but the 80's have been forgotten, music and politics its strange
Wow, thank you. Thanks mostly for all the great music. We all needed something to believe in back then and it was you guys. A real rock band that could FUNK with the best of em.
Great Stuff - Pat Benetar and Bangles lead singer (I think she's a lesbian but I can't remember her name) have the most memorable voices of girls 80s pop - love it - even the filler on their albums was okay
1) I love 'Antmusic'. "Kings of the Wild Frontier" is a great album.
2) The Prodigy - Firestarter samples "Close (to the Edit)"
3) It's funny you should mention AIDS right after some B-52's singles because their original guitarist and one of the founding members Ricky Wilson died of AIDS in 1985. He's the one sitting on the floor on the "Private Idaho" sleeve. Also, let's not forget Tom Fogerty, Sylvester, Cameo, Freddie Mercury, & Easy-E. Sad but true.
-A HA-Sun always shines on TV is therefore the first song on the list
I inevitably end up hearing that song about 10 times a month as a result yet I can't find the courage to delete it for some reason. It is becoming the bane of my existence. I have woken up to it countless times when I forget to change the song in my iPod dock/alarm clock. Fucks my whole day sometimes.
Classic shit funktuall. Nothing cheesy about this. This is when music was music. Not that Miley Cyrus/Jonas Brothers crap that's out right now. Peace.
check the record player please somethingwron but thanks great song

You should put the full versions of the 45's on Youtube instead of the samples. And the audio is terrible. Just sayin', not to be mean.

@becawley999 I don't think the lead singer of the Bangles, Susanna Hoffs, is a lesbian...but perhaps I am wrong? Either way, that's her name... :)

I will always have a soft spot for 80's pop music...heck, 80's music in general.
It was the soundtrack of my youth, of course next to hiphop.

omg that take me on song, so amazing. and the vid was really cool. it was so neat and futuristic looking for the 80s.
