What I want to know is 1) Why didnt the engineer throw the train into emergency brake. 2) Once the train was stopped, why didnt the train crew make sure the kids were alright THEN arrest their candy asses for trespassing.
@awhite1256 is the bridge still there? I heard they were going to tear it down. I know the tracks are gone I'm just wondering about the structure itself. Thanks

I wonder why the driver couldn't have just stopped the train? It probably wouldn't have made much difference because it takes trains a mile and a half to come to fully apply their brakes.
Well that acually depends. If a train was going 55 mph and it applied the brakes all of a sudden then it would take more than a mile to stop. If this train applied the brakes all of a sudden there's a good chance it would've stoped on the bridge.
