  • its a 6

  • GM did a hell of a job with she ls1. made to be ran hard an to last. I am a COBRA guy but have to respect these cars. The power they put out for not being supercharged is great. low end pulls hard as well as top end. as for the v6 why even bother?

  • PPL just Hatin on mustangs damn chill

  • do what u want man. your car

  • still takes something...........

  • PLEASE take that body kit off thats sme bullshit v6 ford s/c so now take that slow ass shit n sellit gt lookn like he tight wish ford never mad a V6 THAY R 4 GOIN 2 WORK IN N H O M E

  • you ignorant faggot

  • lol and DOmman prob think the Camaro with stand a chance with the New Edge Cobra

  • Comment removed

  • i hope you dont think this mustang was a terminator.... besides that what you meant was it doesnt take much for a termi to cream the fuck out of a ls1.

  • Camaro's are badass

  • Haha Chevy still owns, that really made me laugh 'cuase it actually looked like the stang had a chance at first

  • talk about pissing your money away lol

  • I don't clame to have a faster car than an LS1. My best friend's dad has had a '98 Z28 6 speed since '98 and another friend at my work has an '00 LS1 T/A WS6 6 speed. They are badass cars and i've always been a bigger LS1 fan than a Mustang fan. Even a stock automatic T/A was cathcing me, but not by alot. 5.0 Mustangs are surprisingly quick in good tune. Mine weighs 2900 lbs confirmed at the drag strip. 2900 lbs and 200 hp with a close-ratio trans makes for a quick car in anyone's book.

  • Also, the Mustang in this video is automatic. A supercharged automatic V6 Stang that is otherwise stock would not even see 15.9 here. I raced an '02 V6 Mustang with a 5 speed trans, hurst shifter, 4.10 gears, LSD, headers, full dual exhaust, CAI, dyno tune, and Z rated tires at the drags and on the highway on the way home. From 20mph to about 110mph, I beat him by about 3 cars. At the drags, I had him by a few tenths and maybe 2 mph each run, spinning horribly all the way through first gear.

  • everytime i take my trans am to a mustang meet they kiss my ass i wonder why

  • @gtdrummerdude no lx 82 mustang will even be close to a ls1 maybe a v6 thats a wanna be ls1 the ls1's are capaable of running 12.9 stock only mustang that can even think about touchin that stock would be a terminator

  • blake ur car is bad ass

  • LS'1's BLOW UP!!!!!!!! haha

  • haha ur a fuckin idiot me and him have raced plenty of times and when i say i was mostly stock i had a full exhaust and a CAI and yess if u get a GT to breath right like mine was and u have a completely stock auto LSwhat, the GT will easily pull on it....when u get your license give me a call

  • to bad that wasnt a stock LS1 i have an 04 gt now its cammed and has ported heads and all the bolt-ons but when it was stock i pulled on my buddies 1998 t/a his with an auto mine with a 5 speed

  • Who the hell keeps their LS1 stock? And no your stock gt did not pull on any ls1 powered f body, even autos.

  • My stock '82 LX with single exhaust and a shitty 4 speed overdrive manual trans (SROD) beat an LS1 T/A auto off a stoplight and he still hadn't quite caught me by the time I was going 80 mph so he just let off. He wasn't catching me quickly either, just barely inching towards me. He initiated the race, not me, so don't say he wasn't trying. Every car, even two identicaly LS1 cars, is different and we can't speak for all of them.

  • You are full of shit too.

  • Ok give me a few minutes and if my friend has the video of his 12 second bug running against a late '90s Z28 auto, i'll leave another comment with the link. The Camaro runs a low 15.

  • Your old 16 second LX did not beat a LS1.

  • 16 second? Where'd you get that from? With drag radials my car has run in the high 14s at about 93 mph. LS1s with 6 speeds run high 13s on a good run here in Phoenix, AZ. ANY driver error, bad tires, bad launch etc. will get a 6 speed LS1 in the mid 14s at best. The car I raced was an automatic LS1 T/A. I've seen many LT1s and LS1s in the 15s (for whatever reason) at Speedworld in Phx, AZ. As stated, the one I raced was an auto and he WAS catching me, just not quickly enough.

  • High 14's is pretty impressive.. Thats awesome. Does your LX have the windsor? Wow, why do cars run so slow in Phoenix? Is it because of the heat? I live in Ohio, and at Norwalk Raceway LS1 automatic f-bodies run mid 13's bone stock all day long. Check out my automatic WS6, with just a few bolt-ons (borla catback, tune, shift kit, real ram air, etc..) im in the 12's easy.. With my 150-shot dry kit I hit very low 11's..

  • Yea I think it's a windsor. Just the 5.0L H.O. for '82, whatever family that was in. It's hotter hear and we have some elevation, and alot of people that don't know what they're doing. My neighbor's 650 horse Chevelle with 4500 stall, trans break, 4.10 gears, 30"(roughly) slicks and only 3000 lbs ran consistent 12s it's first time out. That should be a 10 second car. 350Zs and G35s are also mostly in the 15s. Idk what the deal is.

  • less dense air in high altitudes coupled with warm expanded air makes for little oxygen per cubic inch to burn. If it´s cold and by sea level it goes much faster. I have seen a table on how it affects performance but forgot where... good luck both of you! Take care!

  • Altitude at the track here in Phoenix is 1400ft and in the summer the average temp is around 110 degrees. This time of year its around 60 during the day and maybe 35 at night. 1400 ft altitude isn't bad at all. When it's cold at night in the winter, though, my car sure performs better. I can image how much fun it would be to race in a place like california in the winter.

  • lol same here, but remember, we're not allowed to tell the truth to those who own the holy LS1!! haha tryign to make up for soemthign with their "big ole' chevy small block yes sirrr". lol get with the times GM, over head cam son! my 4.6 makes over 370rwhp n/a (and its got a 100shot if that aint enough) (with stock internals and gaskets) in a car that weighs 3200lbs, so do what you can to your ls-tank...3900lbs? i thought it was a coupe not a truck.

  • LS1s weigh 3900lbs? That's a good one Moron, they weigh 3400ish lbs. Pushrod all the way, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

The new Camaro will weigh 3900lbs but it will be pushing 420hp with an LS3 powerplant. Stock for stock the LT1 is faster than the Mustang GT until 2005 when Ford finally made 300hp in a stock Mustang GT. Even with the 3v heads the new mustang is slower than the LS1 that's 3 years older.

  • to you stanggt5, fuck your over head cam faggot ass bullshit. show me a mustang that can EVER EVER EVERRRR beat a pushrod lsx motherfucker!!! you cant! bwaaaahahaha you fail at life ford guy! pushrod technology is old, but sir its been kicking mustang ass since the day it was born. amen.

  • who supercharger's a v6 now a days

  • haah shitty Mustang Vsucks(V6)

  • why would he supercharge a v6 thats a joke get an engine swap or something

  • Because the Gt guys and imports don't mess with it :D

  • lol true

  • The white GeeTee will play anyday!

  • Alright guys yep its a camaro not a vette, yep the camaro is modded, I also have a vortech v1 s not an m112. I was having SPARK issues that day due to my tune pulling spark for having 212 Inlet Air Temps (IAT's) and I was "manual shifting" and hit the rev limiter. However either way the LS1 would have beat me. You'll get another video with us running soon!!!

  • what kinda power

    haha

  • wow v8 corvette vs v6 mustang fair race? and i dont think it was supercharged cause i couldnt hear a whine.

  • The guy has more videos of his v6 stang, it has the m112 supercharger. just to let you know if you need help finding his personal vids let me know.

  • so it's a supercharged V6?

  • Yeah.. with a few issues that day its running much better now :D

  • v6 mustangs are shit, duh the ls1 would beat it

  • Given Ls1 is alot bigger, which can handle or equal the same or more power easyer, but v6 mustangs don't suck once people take time to put in them. but this fella put a supercharger on, which I would not of.. he should of gotten a turbo kit. but hes atleast staying with the LS1 using a supercharger .. and that bodykit is def not helping him in this race eitheir..

  • Staying with the LS1? Hardly, the stang jumps out a little to start because it's lighter and then seeya....

  • m112 supercharger bone stock v6 and that supercharger is weak... , still stayed with him anyways wow seen alot faster v6 mustangs.. big woop stop hating.

  • There's no "hating" going on, we just have different definitions of "hanging" apparently. If I don't stay within two car lengths or so I don't consider myself to be "hanging", after that point I consider myself smoked. It's just my opinion.

  • Well Considering it took the vett up untill 4-5 gear to finally loose him, I would say he hung in there pretty good for only a 3.8L supercharged..

  • One it's not a vette, it's a Camaro (you can clearly tell by the rear end- in case you missed it in the description) and two the stang got passed and the Camaro rapidly put like a bus and a half on him (or more). So as long as you're a spec in the rear view mirror you're still hanging in there right?

  • The thing of it is, is, the LS1 was modded too. All the mustang had on it was the super charger. M112 is not a bad super charger compared to the M90. A m112 set up I have seen 430 at the wheels.

  • so, therfore Its not a slow mustang at all, hints Its barely but still keeping up midly with a Modded LS1 verse supercharged v6 mustang. thats pretty damn impressive for the small block 3.8L. hints they can be built up to 4.5L common ones are the 4.3L though. and 4.2L if he did that i bet my money there would be a huhge differnce in that race

  • They can actually be bored and stroked to a 4.6, theres actually a book on it, the first gentlemen to do so was an older man, he was the first true pioneer into V6 mustangs, he began the stroking of V6 3.8 stangs. Its actually very interesting you should check it out.

  • whats the name of the book?

  • I couldnt really remember it off the bat lol I actually read it in the "Borders" books store, the majority of the book happens to be in black and white but its full of parts comparisons via dyno chart and step by step info. Ive only seen one just like it, id have to go back some day and find out , Ill reply here if I happen too.

  • yeah please do, sounds interresting.

  • thats a pretty ssilly thing to do. the cylinder walls would be too thin and would most likely result in catastrophic failure. a safe bored on a 3.8L block is 4.3/4.2. then build it around a M112 supercharger. then you got yourself a nice engine. ill check this book out though lol. cheers

  • The cylinder walls arent the issue, the crank would be the issue in a 4.6 stroke in High horsepower applications.

  • Yeah a full bolt on 4.10 ls1 will run like a 12.5... on stock suspension, faster than an 03 cobra.

  • all motor v6's in the 11sec's so I highly doupt that corvette in the 12.5 with full bolt ons would hurt a cobra with 4:10's and full bolts on as well.

  • really, then do a full bolt cobra with 4.10's as well and see the results again lol.
