i think it lights up when you have a call to and it could be something when you have 2 of them and you stand them back to back they light up because i have a little baby one from zap creations and when you put 2 together it lights up ! and it also rattles like yours

I might be wrong but i think the Hello Kitty figure is a light up cell phone charm. You attach it to your cell phone and when someone calls you Hello Kitty lights up. But don't hold me to that as i may be be wrong lol. Someone else may have a better idea. =)
