Loved this, and especially the lack of laugh track! I Netflixed a few seasons and had no idea you could turn it off. Once I did that, it was like watching a brand new show! You really get the rhythm of writing and comedy. Brilliant!
Their dialogue sounded to natural without the sound track after most of every exchange, I certainly will purchase the DVDs one day. Thank you for this compilation.
Best scenes in the entire run of the series involved just two people: Radar and Henry. I know a lot of folks today are mourning Harry Morgan, but I just could not get enough of Maclean Stevenson as the CO. He was a comedy writer with very little acting experience.
IIRC they showed the full series of this once here in the UK on the now defunct Paramount Comedy Channel without the laugh track and then every other time they reran the series they used the laugh track version. Much preferred it without the laughing.
Why didn't you put some clips with Will Smith when he played the Colonel? He rocked that. I remember that episode when he was afraid of mayonnaise, and they had to call in the Russian soldiers to convert him.
This is one of my favorite shows too. The other is All in the Family which BTW YouTube has all episodes of. I would love it if some uploads MASH to tube...
When choosing a chief surgeon, why wasn't Trapper considered? You'd think Henry would prefer choosing between Pierce and McIntyre than he would Pierce and Burns, which was too easy.
You can't get any better than M*A*S*H. It is timeless. It is a feel good comedy that grew into an institution. This show still has people still using it's lines...and some of those people who use them weren't even born when the show ended. That is the kind of influence this show has on the world.
I'd heard that when these came out on DVD, they gave you the option of watching the episodes with or without the laugh track. Very interesting to hear them without. First thing I noticed is the wonderful nuance of Gary Burghoff's Radar O'Reilly character. You can really hear some great delivery on a lot of his lines that usually got eaten up by the canned laughs. His interplay with Henry Blake was absolutely incredible.
@hibob418 Thanks. I agree, Radar and Henry brought some of the best dialogue in the show - Radar's subtle remarks are fantastic. I've always watched the show without the laugh track, so for me it's weird to watch with it. More parts are coming soon, hopefully.
@hibob418 I was wondering why there was no track. You read my mind about Radar and Col. Blake, to be able to hear the exchange all the way through and also have the sight gag is just phenominal. The only laughing I heard was my own
THIS IS TO FOX.. THE GREEDY GET MORE GREEDY> Whats the harm in putting this on you tube...
