well how do you think people by puppies and kittens??? They are taken from their mothers to. So that's not a very valid excuse on why people shouldn't own primates. It is illegal to sell puppies and kittens until they are weaned; unfortunately the laws protecting monkeys are few and far between. The baby monkeys are literally pulled from their mother's arms as early as three days old! Baby capuchin monkeys will nurse and live on their mother's back up to two years old, I am sure you know how important mother's milk is to any infant, not to mention nurturing from mom and peer play, which is almost always denied to pet monkeys.
