Funnel Cloud During a Massachusetts Tornado Warning!!

I live in ma,but I didn't see a funnel cloud.I just had loud thunder,bright lightning,and power outages.I was sick because we had 48 storms In 1 day.

They use to use the old air raid sirens, the same ones they use to use to dispatch fire/ems personel. But with new technology of pagers and cell phones, they took them down.

i live in maynard, right by acton, there was some pretty crazy lightning, every second there were flashes, scary stuff

no i don't think we have sirens when we had the boil water order a cop car drove around on his loud speaker, they might have like sirens on the firestations i guess if they used those it might help some but this was quite an experience, we don't get tornadoes around here, springfield got hit pretty hard too

@jaslene816 i am just laphing at how bad they are making it sound its really not as bad as it sounds compared to what we really should be paying attention to over in Tennessee there is still people over there buried in the ruble here we will have it cleaned up in a couple of days

The worst storm I can recall being "in" was the August 10 2000 supercell. It was tornado warned in N RI and SE MA counties at 1-2am...

nothing was confirmed touching down however it had a very strong updraft and produced 2-3" hail and 60mph winds , and extreme lightning from Scituate RI to Brockton MA

In extreme southwestern mass. a tornado devastated this town on almost the exact same days too...incredible. I never saw it but i heard a public announcement-"don't come here-we are rebuilding the town" or something like that...

@larice8 no we dont have tornado or severe t-storm sirens because we dont get them anly very rarely but if y go to iowa or kansas they do

@tw33typrinc3ss Hills will not protect you. I saw a tornado come through the foothills of the Appalachians last year in western Maine. Seriously. And Fitchburg has had tornadoes in the past- the amusement park was destroyed twice by tornadoes.

I had a dream of a funnel cloud this morning - just like your picture - my alarm clock went off just as the cloud hit ground and I think I literally jumped out of bed!! I'm still wondering what my husband thinks (it woke him up just a bit, lol)!!
