I keep seeing these European bands playing on big stages with lights and a decent PA system.

In the UK its just a tiny pub with an audience of about 5 or 6 people, and try finding people here who want to play Dire Straits, its almost impossible but its even harder trying to get an audience because unfortunatly Dire Straits are about the opposite of cool as you could possibly get!

Its such a shame and VERY, VERY frustrating.

God people give the guys a break...this is great! Let's see any of you up there doin it. When you play live you don't have perfect mixes up there, it doesnt sound the same on stage as in the audience. They did a great job!

as for this cover - it's very good, but 1) it's played too fast - it feels 'rushed', and 2) the guitar, as someone already pointed out, isn't subtle enough - knopfler wasn't that aggressive.

mark king from level 42 is the same - imagine playing those basslines whilst singing; and the style is more syncopated!

Pretty good, the sound of the guitar is sometimes a bit to much "agressive", and the song is not play enough "cool".

And the balance is not perfect :p

But good performance !
