@KnowImillian Thanks for sharing that info about the new woman warrior. I'll try to check it out and, if I can get some artwork from the book or a cover, I'll add it to this video.
@PokerWhale The book is called "The Lady Of The LIght" by Donna Gillespie. It's the sequel to "The Light Bearer". Ms. Gillespie wrote me that there was supposed to be a movie deal, but it fell through. If you've read "TLB", you must read "TLOTL" to learn the fate of the main character, Auriane, and how she copes in Rome as a gladiatrix suprema. Both books are excellent portrayals of the fighting woman.
@PokerWhale Additional fantastic books on the gladiatrix are Russel Whitfield's two novel, "Gladiatrix" and "Roma Victrix". Both are available from Amazon.com. I've read them and the character development and fight scenes are awesome and quite bloody.
@AmazonArtCollector I checked them out. Not for me. I'm looking for something not greek or roman, a fantastical world where a woman does what and where she wants. No fake so-called historical stuff. Check out Dossouye by Charles R Saunders, I think you'll like it.
@PokerWhale If you want fantasy, give "Red Sonja" and "Jirel of Joiry" a read. Both depict female warriors and are available in paperpack. "RS" became a movie and is available on DVD. "RS" female lead is a merentary warrior while "JOJ" female lead is a witch-hunter. Both excellent books. And, thanks, I will check out Dossouye.
hahaha I wonder why woman always seem to have to TRY be just as good as males. hey AmazonArtCollector if woman are just as good as men, why then do they not play men at tennis? or at rugby? if they are for a fact just as good then the woman will beat the men in the finals fair and clean. why do they have a league of their own so they don't lose? Its not being sexist its a fact they don't compete against men....for a reason.
@moltar112 In sports, as opposed to the military, women don't want to compete with men because in that world of big money, women just don't want to bulk up to make up for their lack of upper body strength. However, when women join the military, espicially those women going into combat today, do receive extensive physical, marital arts, and weapons training that make them more than a match for their male counterparts. I've served with women in combat and they are quite formidable.
@moltar112 In anciet times, it was known that women could channel much energy to make them super soldies like the girl in Serenity, or think like the girl in Nitkita and the movie "Priest".The government knows about this and uses people with this gift, some call it psychic energy or the ability to tap into more percentage of the brain than the norm.It doesn't mean that a woman "has" to bulk up and be exactly like a man, she can be a twig, very feminine, yet turn the warrior side on when needed.
@vvveuvie During the Medieval periods of Europe, England, China, and Japan, noble women would often don armour and take up arms to defend their castles from ramparts. Some more stalwart ladies would serve in the infantry or ride as cavalry soldiers.
@vvveuvie Thanks for the compliment. Please visit my blog at werewolfking.blogspot.com for art, stories, huge video library, and links about women warriors.
@tyroneemail Please don't be so chauvenistic! Women are serving with bravery and distinction in the US and other countries militaries. Women will never be equal to men unless they have a chance to prove themselves brave and relentless in combat. Men and women will always coexist together in society. However, equal rights means equal responsibility so I'm all for women in combat.
@AmazonArtCollector Ahahaha You took me meaning wrong, I was commenting on how Moltar112 has just ensured he will never reproduce by the way he talks about women lol
By nature the woman is a warrior and to sorrow that they are called the gentle sex in reality is not, we are a warriors we are strong and we have the force of a man
@Rosalinda344 Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Yes, women can be either gentle or warlike, depending on their circumstances. Women serving in the military today can do almost any job a man can do, sometimes even better. The Amazons are coming back, not as a nation, but as leaders, warriors, scientists, and artists.
This is a neat video. Can I safely assume that the music is from the motion picture "Conan the Barbarian(1982)?" That has always been quite an exciting piece of music regarding warriors.
@kenpalmer1965 Right you are! The music is indeed from "Conan The Barbarian" which I noted in the credits of the video at the end. I also mentioned it in the description of video that you see when you first come to it. I, too, lov the Conan theme music and hope they use in the remake coming out soon. Thanks for your kind comment.
@Stormtjakka Hi, thanks for your question. Although the artwork wasn't signed by Fran Frazetta, it does appear to me to be her work as it has her style. Over the years, I have received from fellow art collectors hundreds of images and, sadly, sometimes they failed to include the name of the artist. If anyone feels that it's not her work, please reply here.
@Stormtjakka Thanks for you kind comment. I hope that you will visit my art blog at werewolfking.blogspot.com where I have a huge library of women-warrior videos from an array of sources, none X-rated. Plus, short stories, art, and a large link library.
i thihnk that one of the hottest warrior women in the history of warrior womes has got to b calisto.. xenas nemesis.. she dont look too buff,, yet she kicked ass..
@AcheLone In the real world of combat, women warriors would wear appropriate uniforms and body armor. However, in the world of fantasy and mythological art, many times the artist uses erotic clothing to make his/her rendering more attractive to the viewer. It just the fact that women dressed in actual combat garb aren't sexy looking nor should they be.
@AcheLone The czech fantasy and sci-fi magazine Ikarie, eplains that at the heroic times women are sensitive to overheating. If the wore something, they could explode
lol U said World Of Women Warrior, where are the Asian Women Warriors like the Trung Sister from Vietman, or MuLan from China?? Common, be fair and do it right lol
@blackomite According to Mark Twain's biography of JOA, she did swing her sword at enemies but didn't kill anybody, as she testified at her heresy trial. Also, war leader and planner doesn't have to fight to be a warrior, so I believe she still qualifies as she was also wounded twice in combat.
@blackomite Thanks for your comment. I do have a few MuLan renders and I'm thinking about doing an Asian women-warriors videos if I can find enough Orientals in my collection to make a video. If you check my other videos in my Play List here, you'll find a few Asian warriors.
@blackomite Not entirely correct. According to Mark Twain's famous work on "Joan Of Arc", she was a general, a strategist, led her troops into battle, and was wounded twice (once by an arrow and once by a stone thrown). In my book, she was a warrior and died a martyr to the cause of French freedom. Sad that she wasn't crowned king instead of that lumox she worshiped. How different France would have become!
over all men are muchstronger and durable in battle women were'nt warriors back then this is just sexism woman were either watching the children and taking car e of the home and every man would have to do there their military service and work
It is often overshadowed in our history, but gallant women warriors took up arms against Rome, they helped rally the Britannic tribes, women of the kennel led the dogs of war against them, proud women who would not be taken as property by Rome fought with a quiver and bow in hand, and a swords and short spears by their side, they raided camps and caravans, and women of Woad deeply inked fought beside their husbands when invaders finally reached their villages.
Yes, that actress is indeed the lovely and fierce Keira Knightley playing Guenivere, this time portrayed as a Celtic warrrior, in the movie "King Arthur". She's "tres formidable" with either battle-axe, sword, or archery. This movie is the latest version of King Arthur movies and is available for rental from Netflix and I highly recommend it.
That scene is from Xena:WP. It's the Roman warrior-general, Livea, played by Hudson Leick. There were several episodes which depicted Livea, Nero's favorite kick-butt killer, savaging villages. She eventually was defeated by Xena during a gladiatrix match, fled the scene, and later converted to the One God faith. I wish the writers hadn't done that as I liked Livea as she was.
I heard that some people says that muscled women are too ugly, but, I prefer a nice beautifull strong woman who can defend herself. Not a thin woman. Many arts from comics make us believe that thin woman can wear a heavy armor!
Loved the "Conan" music. Really gets one in the mood. A wicked assortment of women warriors really giving it to the bad guys, yet quite artistically without excessive nudity. Good job!
@KnowImillian Thanks for sharing that info about the new woman warrior. I'll try to check it out and, if I can get some artwork from the book or a cover, I'll add it to this video.

@AmazonArtCollector. actually livia was played by Adrienne Wilkinson.
Hudson Leick played the chatacter callisto. Livia was xena's daughter in XWP and was supposed to have callisto's reincarnated soul.
