You want to turn autofocus off, and, if possible, pre-focus it before you dance. Avoid zooming, as your camera is unlikely to utilise a parfocal (zooming doesn't affect focus) lens. Manual control of the exposure would greatly assist. Looks like you're already using a tripod, which is always a massive help.
If it's worth it to you, any new(ish) digital slr (last couple of yearsish) will do HD video, with manual focussing- plus other advantages.

@rmford oh dear, thanks! i already knew all that, and the recording was unintended and improvised. next time i program to film one of my dances i will certainly do what has to be done...and i'll absolutely think about buying myself a decent camera. thanks!

He needs or whoever is doing the camera holding for you needs to fix the focusing so it doesn't blurr on your movements.
