  • Your visual and word pictures not only do a great service to Icelandic tourism, but also

energizes others to do something to reverse the adverse effects on the environment!

  • @xychen123 Thank you for your insight! Your own contribution to science and engineering is as valued in industry as it is to academia. Industry needs more forward-thinkers like you!

  • wow when did you go there to make these nice pictures? Thank you for sharing and they make me feel that the nature is so amazing!!

  • The double rainbow over the falls at 3:47 to 3:52 portends double good luck!

  • The photos make me want to take a trip to Iceland right now. I also enjoyed your beautiful poems. Thanks, TravelKing111!

  • @BLee005 I am glad you liked the poems. The icelandic farmer uses a small hydroelectric generator located in one of the many streams, tumbling towards the ocean. We have somewhat similar environment in Alaska. Many of the hydrothermal plants are relatively small too.

  • Another great video from the TravelKing... Iceland looks so beautiful. The photo of the geothermal power plant is very interesting. It is incredible how blue the ice looks!

  • @shotblocker99 Much appreciation for your praise. Geothermal Svartsengi Power Station at the Blue Lagoon is rated at 80 MW. The light blue of the water is because of the white clay and minerals. It is a very popular destination in Iceland because of the reputed healthful properties of the thermal waters. The white clay and minerals are also used in cosmetics.

  • This is definitely going on my top places to visit before I die list. Thanks for sharing this with us Dr. Wong. Keep them coming!

  • Thank you for this very interesting account of Iceland. The photo at 1:19 was amazing. Also, can't believe they leave the babies outside while shopping. The percussive soundtrack really set the mood.

  • @ekrimEE Thank you ekrimEE for your kind comments. You are the second person in 2 days to mention the blue steam bubble that forms above the hot water below, just before everything blows up. The reason is that the bubble is high pressure superheated steam and only blue wavelength light can penetrate the dense vapor caused by Nature. In a way, it is similar to the blue of the iceberg (from ancient glacier) because only blue light can penetrate the dense, ancient ice, again formed by Nature.

  • such breathtaking photos! it must have been an unforgettable trip. it would be a shame to lose all that beauty because of our ignorance.

  • these pictures are fantastic.

not only they are beautiful, but also they are of great knowledge.

we should remeber and memorize these wonderful moments.

    bravo for TavelKing111.

  • The landscape is so impressive. I would love to go there some day soon. The green of the environment is new to me. I thought it was all ice.

  • The blue of the icebergs is because of the density of the ancient ice. It is a shame that we are losing this valuable heritage.

  • Did you catch the blue vapor bubble of the geyser at 1:15 to 1:22? That is incredible photography!

  • Wow! The translucent blue iceberg at 2:45 to 2:50 is awesome!

  • The opening photo just captures the contrasting mood of the video, fire in the lava rock and the ice in the lagoon. The very oriental ringing of bells, and the clanging of cymbals is interestingly appropriate since a song will be distracting.
