OKC is still my favourite album, but it's amazing to see how far the band has come since the days when things were still guitar driven. No complaints, though, and Jonny is an absolute legend... just saying what an incredible journey it's been. :) Wonder when the rest of the rock world will catch up to Radiohead? Could be decades!
Thom starts Ian Curtis-ing out at the end, that spooked me. I listen to this when feel like I'm about to have an anxiety attack. Musical medicine works. <3
It barks at no-one else but me, like it's seen a ghost. I guess it's seen the sparks a-flowin, no-one else would know. Hey man, slow down, slow down, idiot, slow down, slow down. Sometimes I get overcharged, that's when you see sparks. They ask me where the hell I'm going? At a 1000 feet per second, hey man, slow down, slow down, idiot, slow down, slow down. Hey man, slow down, slow down, idiot, slow down, slow down.
Ok Computer changed my life... I changed my taste in music because of this album.
I discovered them in 97 and as I listened to the album I got hooked and went out and bought EVERYTHING they ever recorded. As it stands I have nearly 250 radiohead songs on my itunes spanning every album with nearly ever B-side as well as thier manic hedgehog demo when they were still On A Friday.
My question to you is this. Do you own the physical albums? MP3's just do not cut it when it comes to listening to this band. The production quality is nothing short of amazing. When heard on CD or Vinyl record.
@timro1979 I would never say they were the last genuine musicians. Time has a gorgeous way of filtering out the crap music. People just don't remember the shit from past decades because well... why would they?
Thom, are you really crying??? Finally! He routinely sings with such passion and intensity that I've often wondered how gets through a set without a single tear because I know that I could not. Well, now I feel validated.
This song is why that "best of" EMI released was so rubbish - why leave one of Radiohead's best songs off and then have the nerve to call it a "best of". Epic, yet understated at the same time. Pure magic.
Wow, it actually looks as though jonny hasn't changed a bit since then. I've watched a hell of a lot of these videos and been in the front row for two radiohead gigs and I have never seen Jonny greenwood's face. Just the hair
there are the ones like darkburnout00 said and then there is the one that jonny plays. i dunno why they have the same name, cause they look and sound completely different
No they aren't easy to get. I hate that. I want one too. But there is one thing that makes me even more angry. In the musicvideo for Human bij The Killers you can see the guitarist uses one too with his ugly hands. '76 Starcasters are only for Gods. But if you really want one. It is possible. You can buy then second-hand but they won't e cheap because the people who sell them know that they are rare.
thanx man. So true what you say about the Killers. i think its confusing cos apparently there's a form of stratocaster that now goes under the starcaster name, which is just fuckin ridiculous. i have yet to see one in any guitar shop!
Yeah man, I've seen one of those new ones. They are cheap and they shouldn't be sold. I think the best thing to do is getting people to send messages to fender that they should start producing those old starcasters again. I mean there are so many people who want one and the sound is great (I'm not just saying this because I love Radiohead).
No man. I mean Starcasters. I think the one you mean is the new one. The new starcaster. I'm talking about the old one, the one Jonny uses in this video. The new one is a variation on the stratocaster. you're right, the new ones should be forbidden:P. When they start producing those old ones again (and I hope they will) I will buy one immediatly.
hi all - if anyone really wants to see other songs from this gig (It is OKC, in sequence), please drop me a note. I may not do it instantly, but I'll do my best to find the time.
